XOP RETROGRADE

That would be tough to make easy to come off. In this config u could just leave them folded back and they would be out of the way

Looks like there should be room for the rests to fold back if stopper bolts were installed when looking at the position of their holes when folded back

Yea that’s what I’m banking on. I’ll know tomorrow after I buy the bolts

Are those the Novix foot rest?

I’ve been trying to duplicate something like this.

I see what your after… yea not sure how that style would equal easy to use or light weight
Me neither. That’s why I haven’t yet made a move. I’ve also looked at the novix steps. Those would be the lightest and simplest to add on

There's a way to do it, but you would have to drill the platform, which I think you want to avoid probably.

Kept brainstorming on this - don't know why lol but my mind got hung up on how to use a clevis pin without drilling the platform.

You could use one of these in the appropriate size to run the clevis pin through, mounted on the bottom, if you can figure a clever way to mount it securely.

They will fold back but u can’t do it while on stand

Love it. Adding the footrest is great. I couldn’t help but think if there was a little bracket like this, it would allow easy folding without accommodating space for the bolt(so the bars could also follow closer to the shape of the stand along the taper). Either way, that’s a sweet mod.

Edit: Nvm, following the shape of taper would be dumb/not allow room for feet, carry on- nice work.

Crazy enough to work. Matching paint job courtesy of your boy!
Imo your paint job is better because it won’t tear up my hands and gear. Only downside to that stand… but it was enough that I never took mine in the woods this season

I sanded and filed mine down the “sand coating” was a bit rough for my taste

Same. I stealth stripped the bottom side so when I wear it in it won’t destroy my clothes, but the other side still bugs me. I just don’t need that kind of traction.

Alright, someone chime in that has spent some time in both the Retrograde and the .5 as a hybrid set up. Pros and cons with a final suggestion
Haven’t done hybrid setup but have used both. .5 wins on width for extra rooM on sitting but retro wins on price Lwcg on “system”. But xop is serviceable

If I had to buy one with no budget lwcg. If I’m being smart with money and have a setup that will “work” with a little sanding and additional mods xop

Have you looked at the cold world? It's a bit bigger and a pound heavier than the retrograde.
