The furthest I walk is a bit over a mile and the largest elevation change is about 300'. Even being an old guy I can manage to carry "all that" for the areas I hunt in here in northern Michigan. Most of the excess weight I carry is self filming gear so I recognize it is unnecessary but I enjoy the process so I'll deal with the extra weight as long as I can keep it fairly compact to my body.

Yep X2 that. Midwest hunters. Walk most any place in Michigan 2-3 miles in a line and your gonna cross a road or run into a lake.
 
Vines with thorns would be the #1 culprit for me as far as what is actually grabbing u and hindering forward process....next would be the submerged log that ur toe goes underneath and then proceeds to trip u and make u fall in the water.....but the thorn vines would be my nemesis if I had to choose.

We could sit here and have a pissing match and argue over who's woods are "thicker".... but id win
