I love just seeing things, we as hunters, probably only see in nature. Being part of it with out being noticed.
I once watched a baby bird fall out the nest about 20 yards from me & was flopping around. I thought, oh
man it didn't fly. Maybe it's hurt or just sick. I sat & wondered if the mom would try & help or what might
happen. As I watched the wet looking little thing try & start moving, & flapping its wings, a little fork horn
started making his way toward us. He was eating mushrooms & jumping & bucking around being playful
for no good reason beside he could. Goofy little fella. When he got close he saw the baby bird & started
sniffing it. I was thinking, man this is so cool to watch. He has no idea I'm sitting here watching. Finally after
a few minutes of him watching the bird, he put his head down & licked it & immediately lifted his head,
shaking it for a second. Then......he put his head back down again & ATE it! I could literally hear him crunching
on the thing. I was 110% like wth just happened! I had no idea they'd eat anything like that. Anyway, after he
finished he muddled around a few more minutes playing & randomly jumping around. Then he froze & put
his head up. When he did he let out the loudest fart. I was so loud it even scared him & he took off like a
lighting bolt. Ran a bit & would stop to look back like he was trying to figure out what just happened himself.
You can't make this stuff up. Stuff only we as hunters might randomly see or encounter. Stuff like that I enjoy
more then the kill.
