Kiwi Klimbers ultralight carbon spurs group buy

I haven't pursued ANYTHING with Gecko. However, I'm assuming we can get a hefty discount making a large buy. I would expect the price to be very similar ~$400.

If guys simply want to wait on the Kiwis, I won't bother with Gecko. If you don't care about a name brand, or a small weight penalty, I'll reach out to Gecko and work a wholesale deal.

It has nothing to do with the straps.

It's his manufacturing and pre-sales. He's running a Kickstarter Campaign kicking off in June. That's running for 30 days, then he has to manufacture them and ship them from New Zealand...

I don't particularly care about the name brand. And if you have to replace the titanium pole gaffs with steel tree gaffs and it's going to make the weight almost the same then to me it's not a big deal to go either way. I'm assuming the biggest difference between the 3 lb Kiwis in the 3.7 lb Geckos have something to do with the titanium spikes. I am curious about the ascenders. I haven't had time to do much reading on it but does anybody know if the ascenders can be used on the Geckos. I don't do much tree work but I enjoy it. Learning how to use a set of Spurs would not only be beneficial for hunting but also work. Sorry to sound so redundant asking the same questions twice I'm just trying to make an informed decision.

I'm out with the Geckos. Even with the discount, I know I want the Kiwis. I'd rather not sell the Geckos at a loss to pick up the Kiwis later. They have been in my horizon too long.. Buy once, cry once. I say it a lot. Time to follow through.

Do you know if they still flex on anyone over 200?
They won't be springy. The Kiwis are tough and historically have been regarded as tougher than Geckos. I'm sure the difference has shrunk considerably with the latest version of Geckos but these Kiwis are stout. I wouldn't worry about the carbon fiber material.

You have a link to the kickstarter page? If these things are gonna be the BEST spikes out there I will buy a cheap set if I need to start the season and wait on these. Would hate to miss a good price on them, I am just the most impatient person even when it comes to to gear :D

The straps comment was just being
facetious. Thanks for taking care of us Greg.

I don't mind waiting.

I don't mind waiting but I would like advice on a good pair of aluminum ones to buy to learn on this summer. Preferably ones that switching out the straps is not a big deal in case I need to hunt in them in Sept before I get the Kiwis, I know I will take a hit on resale but I think there will always be a demand for cheaper aluminum ones with the straps already done and ready to hunt.

Yeah I’m out then Guess I’ll look around for Geckos but $600 hurts pretty bad lol. Might just buy another set of aluminum’s if I can’t find a deal on carbon

That's why I hung onto my climb rights! I already modded them and I'm really comfortable with them. They are pretty light. Didn't really have need for anything lighter. With the new Mantis and predator platform I'm very comfortable with the weight. Still between 8 and 10lbs total setup.

Thanks for reminding me that I’m an idiot for selling mine! Haha!

Yep. Poor @flinginairos is a one trick pony.
:tearsofjoy:

j/k brother. At least you'll get more use out of your custom sticks with amsteel aiders!

Haha. I’m actually looking forward to using my sticks this year, I’m super happy how they turned out!

For anyone that is torn due to the weight difference between the kiwis and geckos, pm me your address and I'll send you my buckinghams for a test run. They weigh 135 lbs. Once you try them out, it'll make your decision much easier.

Not an idiot. It equates to a 12 year old having "THE DREAM" great while you sleep sleep but when you wake up it's a little messy with no one there!
