Ah yes! My mistake. It's a cam buckle strap. Very similar to a LoneWolf, xop, or Hawk cam strap.

Sent from my Galaxy S8.
Just took another look at the pics and see the versa style button. I should have figured this all out on my own. Thanks for the info!

One of the things I love about Tethrd and their new product line is the fact that they are owned and operated by Saddle Hunters. They have been through the "lean years" and participated in most of the DIY projects that have led to all the innovations we now have available. They got in the game not to take advantage of a growing market but because they, like most of us, were looking for better products that work for us, the hunters. You simply cannot replace or duplicate hands on experience. I am really looking forward to using the Predator Platform and the Mantis Saddle!

Is the bridge reinforced with additional webbing to address durability concerns, or what is the strategy there? Something I haven't quite been able to tell from the videos and photos released. If it is feasible to capture that level of detail that would be cool.

No reinforcement needed on the Amsteel. We have all tested Amsteel bridges pretty hard the last couple years on other saddles and there haven’t been any wear issues at all.

I meant the webbing where the bridge attaches. Not necessarily saying it needs to be, I'm no expert just know other productions saddles it is reinforced. But I couldn't tell yet if it is or not on the mantis.

that and Greg has always consistently talked about growing this community - the collaboration he and Ernie have will make it so much easier for us to upgrade / enhance our own setups and multiply our numbers. Not to mention those of us who can't DIY a thing LOL. And seriously the marketing and go to market approach is really well done for a couple of guys working double time - hope it all goes well. I can't wait to try the platform - I'm holding out on the saddle still as its not a priority for now, but I love what I have seen - very comprehensively thought out.

Oh I see! My bad lol. Yes, there is an extra layer of reinforced webbing in that area

I think its been said already - but how it sets on the hips would be good to detail in. The kestrel for me has to ride very low - and when walking in it feels like its falling off - actually doesn't feel like it - it is falling off - and then do feel like I have to re-position it downward a lot once hanging. I'm a leaner. I think @flinginairos had to wear his kestrel low too. I'm a "no butt" guy.....

I had the same issue. Not really an issue but it was slightly annoying. The Mantis is dang near perfect with the waist belt right on the hips and maybe even a tad higher while leaning. I plan to show this on the video since it has been asked a few times.

that's great - except now I may have to keep the off season spending rolling right along. Ya'll are wearing me out explaining all these "needs" to the Mrs! It may come down to the Mantis or kiwis...... not sure I'll do both just yet

Okay I'm going to ask you cuz Huck already responded but did you like the medium prototype? Or do you think a large is a better fit?

Sorry I missed that question yet again lol. The medium is perfect for me. I’m 172 right now and wear sz 32 pants and no butt to speak of so it works well. If you are bigger than me and may need to layer up for the cold I would go with a large size

Cool mention of the mantis in that podcast.
Greg @g2outdoors and @Erniepower are going to cause an exponential increase in saddle sales. Lots of good exposure and endorsements. And @flinginairos video skills will add to the sales too. Buy now while they are available.
And @Boudreaux and @bowhunter15 are doing the same great thing with the Kestrel in podcasts and Utube too.
I can't wait to see the new 15 oz mantis saddle.

Seems like Canada is a dead zone in comparison to the USA. Another reason why Canada needs saddles now. There might be less than 10 Canadians on this forum compared to 2000 Americans.

Tethrd Nation - WHAT DO YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THE MANTIS SADDLE??? - Our very own @flinginairos is going to put together an overview video with our final prototype saddle. Post your comments below, and we'll do our best to show you EXACTLY what you want to see.

You better hurry, we're making the video this week.
This is my first post so if I do it incorrectly please forgive me. I just dicovered this style of hunting thru Instagram’s search feed (wildedgeinc) posted a pic. I fell in love with this concept For the run and gun idea. Stalked the saddle hunter form, podcast and watched some YouTube videos. By the way everything you guys teach is very informative! Just one question that I have that would pertain to me and guys my size. I’m 6’0 160lbs with a 32 waist I’ve been this size since my teens I don’t think I’ll ever gain weight. Should I go med or large (seeing a few post of others happier w/ a larger size). I’m a Florida hunter I’ll rarely layer heavy Unless I leave the state. Thanks for any input.
