Boat buckle overcenter buckle (OCB, boatbuckle)

I have 5 Ameristep straps with the flathooks sewn on. I don't know how guys are using them with the OCB, but if you want them you can have them. The black strap doesn't have the hook sewn on anymore, but I have the hook. You can see how the Ameristeps were removed on the 1 brown strap.

Just pay shipping and they're yours. I'm guessing around $5? Two are spoken for with BOMO and Erniepower.

Oh man, you cut the wrong part G2. You should have cut them so the main strap was still intact. Who ever uses them should cut them and resew the hook back on(I would).

When I cut these I had no intention of every using the straps again so I didn't pay attention to what I was cutting. Oh well. If anyone wants them, they're yours.

You still have some? I'd like a couple sets of those flat hooks to make up some straps.

I do. I'm out of town until late next week. Send me a message then and I'll stick a couple in the mail. I think I still owe you some ccf pad!

Sweet! I'l send ya a message

If nobody else can use the one without the hook, I'd be interested in stitching it back together and try the OCB or the one that justsomedude posted.

I would like to figure out some way to get these Ameristeps to work for me.

If you have any of the foam that you used in your Sit Drag, I'm looking at doing that mod now too.

I can shoot you some
Money in PayPal to cover the shipping and cost for the strap and foam.

Ordered one from amazon with the flat hook sewn on and got it today. Wow this thing is small and light! Can't wait to try it out. I think it's gonna work good. I will be getting one for my camera arm as well. The Muddy silent strap is nearly a pound so switching over to these will save a little more weight ant bulk

Can you post the link for that one? I wasn't able to find one with the flat hook sewed in.

Here ya go. I'm afraid the strap may be too short but I can always get another strap and make it longer..
http://www.amazon.com/BoatBuckle-Kwik-L ... ge_o00_s00

What is the best length for a strap. Most are only 6 feet.
1.Also does anyone know if the OCB with top paws work better as a separate strap or attached to a stick on a versa button.

2.Can you keep the paws tight for a platform on a versa button with an OCB buckle.
3.The versa button would be quieter than a flat hook on an OCB or a direct strap attachment to an OCB which would require threading a strap through the OCB in the dark.
4.The extra versa button on a stick seems like it would be easier and quieter if it would get tight enough. I got some the OCB buckles mentioned in the previous post and they seem really solid but I have to modify the strap.

Answers to these questions would help me from wasting my time on all the possible options. Others ideas and experiences are valuable Thanks

Once you got into the versa button questions you lost me, I'm not sure what you intend to do.

Sorry for the confusion

Is it better to sew one end of the strap to the ocb or use a flat hook to hook one end to the ocb

or you could put loops on the straps and attach it to a stick on a versa button. Then use a OCB instead of a cam buckle.

I hope I am clear.. Just wondering what is better for a platform. What is easier to hook up in the dark and tighter

Ok. I think it is better to use a flat hook. That way you do not need to thread it through every time while hanging on the tree.

I don't see an advantage to using a stick with a versa button.

Here is a heavy duty OC buckle found at:

So I can't really tell by the picture the quality of that buckle or not, but for the price it better be a good buckle. I have one that look similar to it but was much much cheaper, and it doesn't work well at all.

By far the best small OC buckle that I have used is the boat buckle.

So here is what I have minus the hook, didn't realize you could get this with the hook pre-sewn in so you don't have to thread it every time. You can order it with the hook sewn on, then cut it off the buckle, put your steps on, and thread it once. Then you are good to go by just using the hook and adjusting the buckle. The only problem with this site is they don't have coated hooks. The buckle itself is high quality, it doesn't have any slop in the rivets like some of the other ones posted. I'll take some pics tonight when I get home. All together with shipping it should be under $15 to have a buckle and camo strap with a hook sewn on it.
