Great videos! No bs, just hunting. It's like I'm sitting in the tree with you and not watching a production from the outdoors channel. Keep it simple and real! Perfect!

I appreciate that. You'll quickly see i'm not a "gadgets & gismos" type of hunter lol. If it wasn't for filming gear I wouldn't carry hardly anything :D

I appreciate that! Glad I can share my outings with everyone. I am definitely having fun so far that's for sure! Here is last nights hunt....

Flingin, I notice in this video you are climbing with your hands around the tree. Do you find this method easier with spurs? How do you advance your linesman's belt like this?

I do that when I'm moving so to avoid the noise of flipping the rope up. I grab the tree, take 2-3 steps then reach down and grab the rope and move it up. If I'm not worried about making a little noise and moving faster I will just hold the line and flip it like normal. It's also nice to grab the tree for more control too. That tree is a pain to climb. The video doesn't show it but it leans bad to one side and there's limbs to go around.

It is tough some days to carry it all haha! I have really narrowed down the gear I take to be as minimal as possible but it's still some weight. My pack with platform, spikes and filming gear is 24lbs but it's not bad. Sure beats a big metal climber! lol
Thats not bad at all. When I was filming, just my lonewolf and sticks weighed that much. Had at least twice that with backpack and camera gear. I was glad the day my son lost my camera in the woods. I was tired of packing it all and all the setting up but I felt guilty if i didn't because I had so much invested I had to use it. Times are simpler now! lol I miss sharing videos and being able to play back old hunts though.

There are days I wish I could leave it all at home lol. But I love capturing what happens and being able to look back at each hunt. I know for sure I would kill more deer if it wasn't for that dang camera! Haha

As always, I'm a fan. I REALLY HOPE you knock down one of those bucks in his bed. That would be amazing.

I ain't giving up til season closes lol. Last year it came easy but I have a feeling this year is gonna be a little harder. I'll be in Ohio this weekend so I'm pumped for that. The weather looks like crap tho. Upper 80's every day. Oh well can't kill em from the house!

Currently in Ohio for the first time this year. Mainly a work weekend on the new lease. Checked three cams and have some nice bucks here. I'll post a video and some pics tomorrow!

Gonna hold off on the video until I hunt this week. I didn't film much this weekend because I was just so busy getting stuff set up lol. Here are some pics from the weekend I took with my phone and some trail cam pics of the resident bucks

Only 62 acres but the way it's setup is super nice. Pretty excited about it!

Nice. I was just wondering if you think the big boys hang around there or if they just pass through.

There's a clear cut that borders us to the north that I think is holding them. We have a ton of oaks so they are coming onto our place in the evening. We also have 4-5 super thick areas that I believe were clear cuts 20 years ago that I found lots of beds in so we have good cover too. The bucks we had on camera were on every cam we had out so it seems they use the property a lot. I'm excited to see what comes through during the rut with all the timber and clear cuts that border us.

Well last nights hunt was a rough one! On my walk in I got caught in a downpour and got soaked. Plus side of that is I got into my spot easy with all the noise. I got set up and the sun came back out and luckily my Sitka clothes dried quickly and I was fine. The next problem was the wind was coming from the E when the forecast was calling for SW. I checked two of my weather apps and both are saying something different? Lol. I did see one deer get up out of it's bed but it was so thick I couldn't ID it. At dark I lowered my bow to the ground and started down my rap line. I had taken my platform off and was holding it and my autoblock was getting jammed up. I set the platform on my lap while I worked on the line and it fell 20' and landed right on my bow!! I get to the ground and start checking things out and luckily my bow looks fine but my tight spot quiver.....not so much lol. Broke the two carbon rods that hold the hood! So at this point I'm fairly pissed off and then I go to pull my rap line down and it is STUCK. Couldn't get it loose no matter what I tried. At that point I was fuming so it stayed in the tree!! Just one of those days

Ouch. Those aren't cheap quivers either. It's a rough night but I find those are the ones I tell stories about the most.
