A New Saddle Is Coming

Believe it. Start ups are tough. But he looks to have a great product. And a good community here that will support. Wish him much success.

Same here.

How easy is it to lash climbing sticks to the frame? The picture they have on their website basically just shows loose sticks dangling out being held by the leg straps but not being secured. I'd be interested to know if you could secure 2 sticks to each side, vertically, on the frame itself so that they're tight and not out and about wanting to snag on every little limb or sapling I happen to walk by.

Yes, you could do that. In fact, like any other frame pack, you want the heaviest items close to you. If you're packing in a lot of clothes, you're taking the saddle off at the tree to get dress anyway, so I'd stow clothes in bottom of the space between back and bottom, then sticks horizontal on top of that. Cinch a pack or what have you under the leg straps on back of seat. If it's warm and you're just carrying sticks, you could stack two deep vertical on the frame. I have some muddy pro's I'll tinker with and try to get you some pictures of in my other thread. There is a ton of versatility in how you can pack this thing up, but I understand guys trying to root out deal breakers. I'm pretty confident you can carry your sticks quietly, and simply.

If I was going back to this system, I would unpack it at base of tree and use paracords to temporarily hang sticks from as I climbed. I would also think stacking the sticks vertically in it would be easier to navigate through thicker brush?

That's my mind set. I'd have paracord loops to dangle the sticks while climbing up, but I'm looking for ease of navigating through thick brush. I want everything rigid and tight.

And yes @kyler1945 , rooting out deal breakers is exactly what I'm doing. This hybrid looks NOICE! I'm just looking for the whole enchilada.

looks like a sweet and comfortable set up! The only question I have is do y'all think it will be easier to get picked off in ( facing the tree sitting down seems like it would be putting more of a silhouette away from the tree in the open vs the traditional stand were you back is against the tree)? I might be totally missing something. the web looks really cool and I am seriously considering it as my first big investment into the saddle world. Trying to get weigh all pros and cons between this and the mantis since they seem to be the best saddle type rigs on the market! what to do what to do...

The benefit is been getting picked off LESS because of keeping the tree between u and where u expect the deer

I’ve hunted facing the tree in my climbers probably 95% of time for as long as I can remember

I have not been picked off, by sight, sense I've started saddle hunting.
The Hybris, new web, is a Cadillac as far as comfort and convenience. Pack ladder sticks, clothes, and everything you can carry, just have to play with it to figure out what set up you will like.
Myself, I have everything connected to or folded between the seat and back rest. Everything is easy to get and all I have in my hands while walking to the area I'm hunting is my bow. I coyote hunted a few times with the hybrid and found that I can still shoulder my rifle with the hybrid on my back.
It's impressive.

Couldn’t stand it.I called Mr John and had a talk with him.He hopes to have some ready in the next couple of weeks.Looks like the end product is gonna go between 10 and 12 lbs depending. He also says since it wears like a pack you won’t feel your carrying much weight. He actually just sent me a video of him moving around on a pole in his shop.Way too cool.

Do you have the video to post? Would be cool to see if you are allowed to post it.
