Broadheads: What are you using?

This is what I'm shooting this year too. I got them and Ramcats and the stingers flew better for me.

Hope I can find my arrow after it passes through a deer and buries into the dirt!

Have you thought about the nock lights?

I'm using Old Glory for the crossbow and Slick Trick 1" for the bow. Qualified with both, both shoot well for me.

Has anyone mentioend QAD exodus (non barbed) yet?

If there are two broadheads (fine, three) that are a constant in these discussions since i have been an archer it is the following three: Slick Tricks, QAD, and Rage. I'm willing to bet a small mountain of game animals have been killed with those three brands alone.

I think the rage were illegal here in Tn because they were considered barbed be cause they didn't fold up once deployed.

The 3 blade rage is barbed but not the 2 blade. 3 blade is illegal in NY.

I'll agree to that but I would say as many but probably more deer have been killed with a muzzy on the end of a xx75....not advocating for muzzy I shoot slick tricks myself lol

If you are looking at high dollar American made broadhead, take a look at Bishop Archery. (I always wanted to get the 300 grain head just because) I have not used them but heard that they are good. There are a lot of good broadhead that do not cost a paycheck but here is another option. If you are looking for mechanical, look at schwacker! If you are looking for a simple but effective cut on contact look at Magnus Stinger or Red River...

There are a lot of good heads out there. Pick the one you feel most confident with and you are good to go.

I shot the elk in my profile with 125g helix single bevel. Pretty much an indestructible head. Probably going to use them for deer this year. I wanted to try the trypan, but they only come in 100g

Those trypans look pretty killer. I was torn between trying some g5 deadmeats and the trypans this year but i've got a dozen or more broadheads that are totally functional already lol...

Well, I pulled the trigger. Pun sort of intended. I know they are crazy expensive but I want to give the iron will broadheads a go. They have a lifetime warranty if they break for any reason. Going with the 125.

I think this has been a good discussion though.

125 Simmons in the wheel bow, maybe some out of date NAP Thunderheads. ACE standard, Wensel Woodsman, or VPA with the real bows. I really liked the ACE last year. Lots of cutting surface, tough, easy to sharpen and cheap.

Good deal. Let us know how they perform!

I carry 2 rage 2 blade 2 slick trick mag and 2 ramcats all in 100 grain.
I tend to carry a variety pack as well. Mostly because I always shoot one out of the pack for practice.

So first 2 will be Stingers and the others will be Ramcats.

I will be interested in how you like them. I have been looking at them but wanted to hear some reviews before I pull the trigger.

Yeah, I know it is one of those things. But we don't fight like they do on AT. I can't even really bring myself to look at threads on that site.

We are just better type of folks!
I don't like AT either, they need better control of the ones that get out of line.

Thanks red squirrel!
