Ok I gotta say it ... these things are ridiculous. I am not interested in carrying these awkward, clumsy, flimsy looking whatever they are through the woods. If these were the only way to climb a tree, I would stick to ground blinds. These are a step in the opposite direction from the small compact, light ideas that we usually see on here. But seriously I do not like them. ;)

They are actually way better than you think. These are far from perfect, but if we could do a DIY version they would be an awesome mobile hunting tool.

I 100% am putting this on me and my hangups. Not the product really. I can see how the logic works but I can also see my size 14 shoes with these crescent moons attached to them and know that they are not for me. With that said I am looking forward to the videos of you guys trying these things out!

I think it depends on how you hunt as to the climbing system you will gravitate towards. For me personally, I want to be able to be dropped off anywhere in the deer woods, and have a system that I know inside and out and can climb any tree I choose to a reasonable hunting height (5-20 foot for me) and do it quietly and in total darkness. I do a ton of run and gun hunts and set up in trees I have never seen before. So for me I have a system that rocks all those needs and I get better and better at it the more I repeat it. I do make small twekas as I go (went from 3 foot aiders to 1) will look at lighter climbing sticks as they come out) etc. it is kind of cool to hear all the ideas - but at my age and current physical fitness I fall back on the old saying "If it ain't broke don't fix it) and if you do fix it make sure it meets your needs.

Now where the hell is my thread injector I ordered :)

Here I joined saddle hunting not knowing I was going down the rabbit hole. LOL.

Innovators waste the most money take the most risk so early adapters can take less risk and waste less money. Thanks Red. I like being an early adapter.

Hey Red... Do you think these are worth trying. Will you ever use yours.

After seeing Boswell on them at saddlepalooza, they look to be handy little things after a little bit of modification.
I really wish an American manufacturer would tweak the design and reduce some weight.

They remind me of climbing stands - I can't imagine using them with how I hunt.... perhaps for tree prepping pre/post season?

Dave, they would make great climbing methods for the smaller oaks and scrub trees in our area. It would be great for LBJ and if I could ever get drawn for Haggerman.

Haggerman is a tough draw. My sticks suffice for any tree - and I guarantee I can climb more stealthy with my sticks then I could with those things strapped to my feet :)

They certainly have a place. The idea is brilliant, but these are junk. They can be modified to be usable though. I shot my last 2 deer this year after climbing with them and I will continue to use them. I have been rappelling down after climbing with them but I'm going to practice putting them back on in the tree more. They are more limited in tree size than spurs, but I like climbing on them better than spurs. Once you set into the tree it is like you are standing on a small platform.
