They came in the mail today. I think they have potential but we'll see. I'll try them out later this week.

First thing up is to chuck the straps that came with them, they're junk. Tomorrow I'll put together some better straps. They are a little noisy out of the box but if they work I don't think they will be too hard to quiet down.

It looks like they would be constantly hitting each other, nothing a lot of practice wouldn't fix, but....

It will be interesting to hear how they work. Looking at the way the website showed them it seems when you lean back into your linesmans belt it would be trying to push them off the tree. You will also have to kick out past the tree to go around the opposing set. They are worth a shot though. I wouldn't be against trying the backwards so they are on the same side of the tree as you instead of around the back. Might be worth setting a lifeline with a prusik before you get started. It's too close to deer season to get hurt now.

Red,
Be sure to kiss those to whom you are closest and choose a forum member to assign forum admininistrator status before you strap those things on your boots. Losing you would be difficult but at least your legacy would be intact as long as we still had Saddlehunter.com!!!!! Be careful buddy!!!:coldsweat::coldsweat::tearsofjoy::tearsofjoy:

Maybe a visit to a lawyer to update your will leaving all the hunting gear to members of the forum more specifically me :)

Lots of doom and gloom from comments. :) I'm sure you'll have your linemen's belt or some other safety belt on so doesn't seem that extreme to me. I'm very curious to hear how they work. I agree it looks like the concept is similar to a climbing tree stand and will take practice. Keep us posted!

I thought about setting a lifeline to use while trying them, but I think instead I will just move my tether up the tree as I get comfortable with them. Don't worry guys I will be strapped in at all times. I will also bring my climbing rope up so I can rappel down in an emergency.

Innovators waste the most money take the most risk so early adapters can take less risk and waste less money. Thanks Red. I like being an early adapter.

I think you will be fine. I probably weigh at least a hundred pounds more than you so I'm looking at them through different eyes.

Ah they will be fine. Someone tested them before they went into full production mode. Just messing with ya Red. Looking forward to hearing about it!
