EZV sight / Thumb Release

Well if this sight eliminates the need for 1 piece of gear, and it simplifies the piece of gear it is replacing, then it sounds like something that I'd like to try.

Golly you guys have got me interested. Hit low on a doe this year because she crept in past the tree I ranged at 20 and I overcompesated. Its that good huh?

I don’t think it is going to make anyone a better shot. It just makes me a faster shot, a calmer shot, and better at ranging than if I were using my own guesses.

If I were hunting more open terrain, I’d carry an rangefinder- the margin for error with heavy arrows increases greatly at distance. But 90% of my shots will be within 40 yards. I feel very confident inside that distance with the sight.

If you’re a lousy shot it likely won’t help. Also, I can’t speak for people who shoot it and immediately can range with it effectively - I definitely couldn’t. I’ve shot the thing almost 2000 times now

Not needing a range finder is what has me very interested in this sight . Just haven’t been able to pulled the trigger yet. Really just not wanting to change my setup during the season. You guys make this sound so easy to use

The only shot I’ve had all season was on a young coyote. Put him in the V and center punched him. Yardages unknown. Somewhere between 20 and 30 yards.

One side of the insert has tic marks to use for yardage. Once you get use to using the sight you are supposed to take the insert out and turn it around so you can’t see the tic marks anymore. The reason is so you won’t guess the yardage and use the tics. You have to have confidence in the v!

I’ve not turned mine over because I use the tick marks for know yardages at longer distances. Also, there are a lot of yardages where the 20 yard tick marks are all you need. 22 yards and in get the top tick marks. I may mess around with turning it over this summer and shooting 3D but I find it hard to frame the vitals outside about 40 yards.

So today was the last day of the season in MA. In the afternoon I went to the club and put mu SZV sight on my Triax. I shot surprisingly well. Had fun! Once I figured the right insert I did fairly well out to 70 yards. Still need a lot of practice but I never missed the paper.

I purchased one on black friday and will get started this spring with it. I can just choose the slowest speed insert as my bow shoots at about 208 fps. Aaron said it will be off by an inch out to 40, which is ok with me as I only shoot to 30.

DIY sportsman just posted a great review on the EZV sight, apparently he used it all season and seemed to like it. I'll be trying one as soon my wallet recovers from saddle stuff!!

Well I had a miss where I didn’t trust the sight a couple weeks ago. I decided to redeem myself yesterday - 25 yards. My proudest archery moment this season for sure!

Been researching the EZV for a long time now. Just got done reading this thread from the "bottom-up". Ya'll (Kyler, PJC, rutjr, etc.) have helped me over the edge. I'm buying one tonight!

I think you're going to like it. I actually had Aaron send me an insert with the two sides of the V shaved down narrower. It made it easier for me to see what I was framing with the V. I could go even narrower, but it helped me a ton. Some guys do it on their own, but I kept melting the plastic causing the V to become miss-shaped. I'm sure it would be costly to have his moulds redesigned, but that V doesn't need to be so bulky, in my opinion.

you won't find better customer service than you'll get with Aaron. That's for sure.

I got my site 2 weeks ago. Aaron called and let me know that Montana resembled the planet Hoth and some inserts weren't available. I called him back with some measurements from my sight. Two days later I had it. Put it on the bow and 12 shots later I had 1" group at 30 yards. I proceeded to move around my yard shooting between 15-45 yards and just nailing it! My son was standing next to me and was asking me why I was laughing and the wife was just giving me the "You're so weird." look. It's so instinctive it's almost unbelievable. You shoot a "zone" and not a dot. EZV=EZ WOW!

Alright folks. Just placed my order for an EZV this morning! Now I'm waiting on this, a Mantis package, and a set of WE stepps! :)

Man, yall have been hard on my wallet this month!
