Every been inside a deer processers cooler and seen the deer hanging, some shot up bad leaves dirt in the holes, some have been dragged through swamps after gutting. some just should not be there because of their condition. Short clean drag seems ok long nasty drag, pack them out.
I wouldn't use that processor anymore. The processor I use is very picky about the deer he takes. I am there during our gun season and seen first hand him turn away deer that weren't handled properly.

I always have one of these on my kayak to drag a deer to the water. They work great. My last buck last year I had to drag over 1.5 miles up and down some steep creeks - kicked my butt but I got it done.
They are the simplest solution I’ve found to date, and they are slick. They make a smaller version, but I’m one of them optimistic guys.

What issues did you have with it?
Kinda bulky to use for me. Jet sled is better for dragging. The sleigher was not easy to keep the deer positioned correctly for me. I have since purchased a small car. Unless in a crappy area I'd much rather use the cart. As DaveT does with a yak.....probably a viable option though.

You’ve had a successful hunt & found your trophy. Now, how do you go about getting it out? Over the years I’ve had to use several different methods, from dragging by hand to cutting a pole tying the legs to it & two guys shouldering the pole & toting it out. Probably the most common though is dragging with my deer drag that stays in my pack until I get it to where it can be reached with a vehicle of some sort. Fortunately where I usually hunt is family land & usually there’s someone to help if needed, & drags to the ATV trail, edge of field, or highway are relatively short. There’s some public land around that I go to a couple times a year though & most of it can only be accessed by foot. So for you guys that are going an hour into the woods on foot, what do you do when you get one?
I have a daves deer drag it , which is a metal pipe with two holes drilled on both sides. Im in bear country so getting your deer out asap is always important , being in the back woods where I hunt this pipe have saved me many times. Yes its a pain to drag but this fits in my pack it also has rope wrapped around it. You use the rope to tie the deer up then pass the ends through the two holes on each side of the stick. You can throw this acrodd your chest. the bar acts like a brace against your chest. Ive seen it done with a solid closet stock wood bar. Just drill two holes at each end of the wood bar. I wrap a rope around the bar for the drag. If your buddy is with you , its like a handle you can both grab to drag the deer. Ive had to drag deer out from pretty deep in the woods and it has worked great , its still tough dragging them though

I have the big deer sleigh too that a pack in my stand when I make my walk in if it’s over 1.5 walk. If it’s pretty good terrain I’ll bring my cart with me. I have hauled s couple deer out a time with it.very easy pull if terrain is good. This season I’m gonna try Saddle hunting and buy a big pack to pack saddle in, my steps, and if I kill I’m gonna Quarter it up and pack it out. Just seems a lot easier. I like that double axle cart! Love my jet sled brought out quite a few buck with it on snow and leaves. And great for ice fishing this time of year to haul my gear around

Thanks bud, where I killed that lil 6 was right at mile and half and it was a very easy drag. Ground was somewhat dry and most of the drag was down a walking trail. Opening day this season me and buddy doubled up. We had roughly 250lbs on it and was half mile in. You could feel them back there but wasn’t to bad. Only issue is I had one tire that kept going flat. I put some of that green slim in it and don’t have any issues now.
