I deleted it cause it was false information... The weight rating is right on the freaking buckle. I know Heath and he has made sure to test his product and it is very safe. No saddle is TMA rated . Every saddle on the market now has been proven beyond a doubt to be safe. We aren't getting into bashing products here on this group page. If you do your gone. Hopefully everyone can carry on as usual.

A new Facebook comment on the H2 buckles. The information on the buckles was false. From the moderator
I deleted what I copied from Facebook. Trolls on saddle information abound I guess

I knew it. A corporate troll planted by competing belt buckle suppliers. This saddle thing is heating up.

Gentlemen we are happy to have polite discussion on these topics, but please save the chimp-style poo flinging for archerytalk.

ETA: apologies if there are "jokes" being thrown around but sometimes it's tough to tell.

My belt buckle supplier theory was just a joke. Just in case anyone thought otherwise.

I got to sit in the H2 this weekend. 1st impressions was that it fit well. I think it will be a comfortable saddle with long sits but noway to know for sure. Stitching looked fine to me. I didn’t care for the material. Maybe it just needed to be double layered but the inside had a clear plastic coating look to it. I think I would buy one if it was in mesh. I didn’t look at all it’s accessories. I put my bridge on it and hooked up to my tether. And that’s how I’d like to buy it. Plain saddle only.

I don’t think you have to get a phantom at all. Especially if you’re satisfied with what you have now. Easier said than done for me too, I know. It’s a struggle for me to break the “me too” feeling when everyone else is running at the newest latest and greatest thing. It sure feels good though when I don’t give into it. I have the H2 also and as far as I’m concerned it checks all my boxes too and is a nice price which makes it even better. I don’t have any plans to switch to anything new at this point.

Not saying the phantom is a bad saddle either. I’m sure it’s great. I just don’t feel like it’s something I need. And at the end I’m proud of myself for saving the money and just feels good being happy with what I have. As woo woo and fluffy as that might sound.

Are you sure you are a saddle hunter? I thought we were all obsessed with spending every penny we could scrounge, on crap we don't need.

Haha. Trust me I have my moments. Used to be a lot worse than I am about it now. Having my wife and kids around helps keep me grounded most of the time.

i inserted some plastic zip ties without the head/buckle into the line man's loops. Gives them structure and holds them open eliminating much of the fiddle factor.

How exactly did you insert zip ties to hold it open?

Just guessing, but he may be doing what Slomo did with the climbing straps. Pretty slick idea.

The video is a lil tricky to find. Scrunch up the loop, this will create a "gap" on the edge of the webbing. feed er through and cut the head off.

Now that the phantom is reaching the hands of some forum members, anyone have a review between the two. Thoughts, opinions, YouTube videos.

My initial impressions of the H2.

1. I think it will be comfortable... I have spent about one hour in it. Most of the people who have hunted for a whole season seem to like it too.
I cannot say that about the mantis - not for me.

2. It is light enough and seems well built. Not as heavy as a New Tribes saddle. But you pay for the build in a New tribes saddle in two ways... a weight penalty and a cost penalty. New Tribes really makes the heaviest but most robust product. I expect the H2 will be as comfortable as a kestrel or even perhaps as comfortable as a flex. But at a lower cost and weight. And all these saddles are safe enough.

3. The cost makes it very attractive

4. Personally I would make a triad bridge for it out of Samson amsteel. I would do full rope buries like Tethrd has. I think then the rope bridge would slide and adjust easier. Or just use a webbing bridge. Or even just make a triad bridge out of some 8 mm ultra tech or oplux with a long beal jammy to make a prussic on one side and a schwabisch hitch on the other side and add a prussic tender from EWO. I think the triad bridge will likely do what the comfort channels are designed to do.

5. So far I would recommend this saddle for sure... my phantom comes soon. Is it worth $100 more for a Phantom? Maybe I am just paying for marketing and pro staff... Not sure at this point. Time will tell.

6. Oh and of course Heath is a nice guy with a small business worth supporting... I am not pro staff.

7. My summary - This saddle is a good buy. If you want good value and a saddle that seems like it will be comfortable and safe... buy it.

I like to try them all and sell some of them. But they are all different and have different pros and cons.. The Hybrid is my favorite but not for every situation. The Mantis was well marketed and may have disappointed some new saddle hunters because it is uncomfortable. They may not saddle hunt again. HIP PINCH>
The H2, flex, recon and kestrel are all comfortable IMO but have different features that are worth talking about. Apparently the Phantom is the best saddle out there... I guess time will tell. For the money the H2 or recon are comfortable in my opinion... and very economical. Reviews just point out the differences. New Tribes makes great saddles but as I said at a weight and cost penalty. Never tried a trophyline or Matthew Tompkins saddle.

I will have a phantom next week. I have paid for all my saddles so there are no bias opinions here.
