@EricS. "testing" is a vague word. Pulling a saddle until it rips is not the same as load testing stitching at all the locations, by the guys that do that for a living. Like you said, just know what you are getting into and inspect it daily, take responsibility for your equipment and you should be fine. Personally I would not take backyard testing as testing but that is just me. Do I think if all of these new companies did proper testing that they would be ok? I do, there may be some stitch locations that may need to be beefed up or made a longer overlap etc. That is when this gets costly also, revamps and adjustments from the recommedation of the testing facility. I may be over reacting but I know my family would have a hard time without my paycheck.
