The more I resist the urge to shed my dinosaur skin, the more these lightweight, hi-tech, may as well hunt naked options show up on the forum.

I feel we are on the verge of true lightweight nirvana!

All these cool new toys I can’t afford....
Those are SICK looking.

So what are y’all going with, tree or pole spikes? The old pair I’m practicing with has tree spikes but they are far off the tree. I’d think with pole spikes, I could support my boots against the tree and still have the same amount of spike in the tree. What do y’all veterans think? I remember something about it being said before.

This is tempting to jump in on, but I've been practicing with my buckinghams and I'm not completely sure spurs are for me I'm not giving up on them yet though.

Sounds like pole spikes are what you'd want 90% of the time.

I just hope this deal goes through. There have been an increase in nice sets of aluminum spurs in the classifieds.

I would love to use spurs 100% of the time. They are only legal for me .01% of the time. Lol. I picked up 30 acres of private land. Lol

I don't know if the tree spurs will be available in titanium yet. Pole will be for sure. Regardless, I will be purchasing both even if it has to be purchased outside this offer. I held off on purchasing Geckos waiting for these spurs. They look perfect. If titanium tree spurs don't pass QC early, I'll but the steel titanium tree spurs and the titanium pole spurs. I don't mind pole spurs for most

I ended up buying the Buckingham steels. Being a big guy, and not wanting to press the weight limit on the spurs I opted for a higher max weight.

I picked up some Buckinghams on here with pole spikes and I absolutely love them. I may order some tree spikes when these wear out and need replacing but the pole spikes work fine. The only thing is I have had some kick outs with the poles on some thicker bark trees. I was worried about that before but when it happened I had recovered and took another step before I had even realized what happened.
Spurs are great, I'm really looking forward to using them this upcoming season!

I watched a video produced by climb rite a week or two ago, and they said pole spikes are easier to use, closer to your feet, and will be what you need most of the time but tree spikes work better on thick or deep grooved bark.

WesSpur also recommends pole spikes for most trees unless your out west or climbing trees with vines or ivy.

Ah yes, vines. Not as bad of a problem where I’m at now in Alabama but south La was a different story. But I bet you could just spur into those big poison ivy vines and climb just fine. Lol

Another dinosaur here like Huck, these are very intriguing for sure and flinging makes it look so cool and hip. I may be in.

Which pads do you have on yours I have some Buckinghams I've been practicing with but the leather pads seem really loud to me.
