Wow legally blind in one eye, impressive that you can shoot either hand so well. I always tell people Im blind in one eye, cant see out of the other, but it doesnt matter cause I close both before I shoot.
Haha .I hear ya.
Seriously, though, I used that technique (closing both eyes and just feeling how my body performed the shot sequence) to try to help me develop my form (as bad as it is, I'm usually consistent)

Maybe that bow has some special mojo.....
No doubt. It's ancient.and it's seen better days. The only other bows I have that are ambidextrous are wooden long bows with no shelf. They're good, but I like the short and more efficient recurve. I'm looking around for someone who will build me a custom long bow and recurve with dual shelf. But haven't gotten serious with the search yet, I've only contacted a couple people. But this old Bear grizzly isn't gonna last forever, so I need a new dual shelf bow this year probably.

Your sling is awesome and super comfy btw.I'm in it in the video

Steve Turray in the UP of Michigan used to make a dual shelf and is known for solid shooting longbows. His site is http://www.northernmistlongbows.com/ His bows arent speed demons, but they shoot great.

Sweet! A recommendation. I was planning to ask people on here. Thanks. I'll check that out starting right now.
As far as not being speed demons, the bow in the video is fifty to sixty years old and it says 47#@28" but it's definitely lost some of that, and it wasn't a speed demon by today's standards even when new. The self bows I have are way slower even though they are 65-80# . So a custom, modern bow is definitely what I need. I've shot deer with these, so I'm sure any speed increase will only help

His Baraga is pretty quick actually, and comes in shorter versions for better stand hunting. Id like to try one of his wispers someday with that reverse handle.

I'd PM DaveT. He is an aficionado. My knowledge base is limited to the bears

I sent that guy an email and hopefully will hear back from him.His bows look good, and look like they were made to be used. I like that. Thank you for the recommendation, I do need a new bow. I'd still like a nice dual shelf recurve too, so keep your eye out. Thanks

Id like a dual shelf someday as well.

Arrow on each shelf, double barrel! Lol Nock point would be off but can you imagine the looks at the 3D range! Lol

Never shot at a range, or with anyone other than my neighbor (only him because he always came down to watch me shoot - until I gave him a couple bows). But I have fired arrows two at a time - from the same side , it works better than you'd think if you lay the arrows fletching just right. May not good for the bow though. I entertained the idea of shooting two at a deer this past year, but worried I wouldn't get enough penetration. Sometimes you don't even get a pass through with one.
And yes, I know I'm weird, but I'm sure I'm not the only one here who has done this

That is the bow specifically mentioned in my email to him. I asked if he'd make one the way I need and the timeline and other specifics that I don't know about yet.

I had the Ken Sling out today. Forgot my phone on the charger so no pics.

I tried my Guido's Web Bridge and didn't like it. So I pulled out my lineman's rope and tried that as an adjustable rope bridge. I liked that a lot more.

It was comfortable when I wore it low like a swing. A little hip pinch when I wore it the way intended. I even played around using the 'extra' rope from my bridge as back support by tying it off to my opposite side carabiner.

Cool. Yeah, so far I'm partial to an adjustable bridge with this one too. I tried a webbing bridge, but this saddle just seems to work better for me with adjustable. No hip pinch on me though. I've got my winter weight on, so hopefully it'll get better and not worse as I do drop back into my spring summer and fall routine and drop a few pounds.
Also, if I'm doing rope ascent/descent, I'll pull up some of it to tie as back support. Actually took a nap in it today, so I'm good with it for most part

Looking forward to seeing some pics and video from you so I'm not the only one looking like a Jackass trying to show this thing

I was messing around with it and tried a 90 deg bent leg, side against the tree relax mode and put the sling right under me like a swing set and wow, totally comfortable. I biased it more towards my thighs than butt in hunting position and again it was better than expected.

"The loops could be bigger and during ascents with lineman belt, they are out pretty far from your hips. "

Shaun, Im not sure there is an easy way to shorten the loops without making it narrower by your hips. Also have you tried crossing the rope like the "flinging X"?

Yeah I do that, but like I said, they're not so long that it's a problem. Just longer than what I've grown accustomed to using.
I love the sling. Better than any others I've used. You guys should post pics and videos so I can watch and get ideas. I did a handful of videos but I don't wanna be the only guy looking stupid.
I've learned so much from the people here and really enjoy the videos and pics people post

Keep them coming! They are great!

I got my sit drag in the other day and I found it wasn't as comfortable as my EVO. In the sitting position the edges of the strap was cutting under my thighs in the sitting position. Not bad but I wouldn't like it for hours in stand. Also had more hip pinch than my Evo but the closer I got my tree strap to eye level with a 3ft long bridge (18in on each side of carabiner from the tree strap) the more relief it put on my legs so maybe I just need to play with it more. I'm keeping a close eye on the Ken sling. Keep the test coming!

I had the same thing with the sit drag. And the longer I use a saddle of any sort, the longer my bridge becomes and shorter the tether. Today, I had a bridge set up at around twenty two inches on each side and the Ropeman was all the way up the tether to the loop. If this continues, I'm gonna be devising a new way to tether altogether
