Ring ding ding ding ding da ding da ding!!!Forgot to mention the 2 foxes that I saw. "What does the fox say?"
8 hours in the sit drag today, 10 hours in the woods, saw 8 doe this morning at my 5 o'clock, being a saddle newbie I wasn't able to move and get the shot sad face!
Oh I thought this was interesting, first 4 hours with the xop hand climber as a platform not bad, second sit just ameristeps, ugh I don't know how you guys do it!
Got a video of a buck that came a few hours after the ladies smelling everything..... but I can't shoot him til Oct 7th.

With hand climber top I just loosen my bridge, and turn around to take 5 o'clock shot... standing on platform back to tree...
Ring ding ding ding ding da ding da ding!!!
Maybe if I had actually practiced instead of just watching Boswell's youtube video's and thinking I had it figured out, I would have come up with a solution, or at known the options better.
I do love this forum! Thanks Bubba g!
This is why we preach "practice, practice, practice before your first sit" lol. You learned!!! Awesome story.

Oh, I did practice......just didn't know what I didn't know.
Good point. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever practiced the 5 o'clock shot either.Oh, I did practice......just didn't know what I didn't know.
If your practice tree doesn't have a lot of shot options to practice, you can set up at different locations around the tree. So instead of moving the target, move your tether and platform to create those different shot opportunities. Good luck donnieballgame! Hope you get team 7 on the board

I'm laughing out loud right now, because I never thought of that, it is such a simple solution! Wait do you mean use the tree stand like a normal tree stand? LMAO I am guessing you don't have a fixed bridge, do you use a ropeman on it? Right now I have a fixed bridge with ropeman's on my linemans belt and tether, I could probably swap my linemans belt ropeman once I'm settled at hunting height to my tether.
I was thinking I never got a chance to actually practice a shot in that direction because I don't really have a place to climb and shoot, and both places that I had(my brothers and a local friend) didn't naturally allow for that kind of shot, and I never pushed the issue. Maybe if I had actually practiced instead of just watching Boswell's youtube video's and thinking I had it figured out, I would have come up with a solution, or at known the options better.

Are you a super hero?

@donnieballgame bubba said he loosens his bridge but the same can be accomplished by just loosening your tether and turning around. The hand climber as a platform doesn't allow you to walk around the tree as easily as some but you can almost shoot 360 while keeping one foot on the platform.
