MANTIS...... WHATS UP TETHRDNATION

I've never seen a company as transparent as Tethrd has been. They have communicated exceptionally well throughout this entire process. I applaud them for doing such an amazing job.

To everyone that is anxious or frustrated, consider this: You have a full-time job, right? Maybe even a wife and kids? So, in other words, you've got a life. Now, add one more little thing. Start a business, develop and EXTENSIVELY test a saddle hunting system from top to bottom, line up suppliers and manufacturers, market your system, build a website and social media presence, and keep everyone in the loop, all at the same time.

Don't forget to be a husband, father, and friend, as well as a good employee, boss, and coworker. Your life doesn't end when this new venture begins.

Give these guys a break. I would never want to go through all of that, would you? Your stuff will be there soon. Personally, I'm going to practice my still hunting until my gear arrives. Make the best of it, and let them do their jobs. Consoling those of us that are impatient and frustrated is probably not the best use of their time.

I have a feeling you'll think it's worth the wait once it arrives.

Well said.

I think they have communicated fairly well. I am sure they are doing their best. I am sure it is a huge undertaking trying to run a business. I know I dont want that headache. But I am willing to bet nobody held a gun to their heads and made them do this. (Hope I am not wrong!) That is part of starting a business even if you have other jobs and a family and everything else in life. I dont think many people are trying to rush them and I am not. And I dont think anyone is trying to be consoled by them. We just want updates like he just put out. Takes 30 seconds. Even if it isnt what we were hoping to hear. I think what has most people anxious is just that they put out timelines and expected dates and it has been pushed back. I think it will be worth the wait, we just live in a world that will not wait anymore unfortunately. I am not trying to start anything by any means. I am new to all this and I dont personally know Greg or Ernie but I am sure they are great guys. I have all the respect for military people. Seems like a lot of guys on here know them and are taking what some people are saying personal when I dont believe thats how it is meant. I can only speak for myself but this is just my observation.

I've never once been offended by people saying "hurry up guys" or "why is it taking so long" or "why did you say mid-July and it's still not here". I completely get it. I would feel the same way if I were in your shoes.

All I can say is we are moving as fast as we can and trying to light a fire under our manufacturer. We've done all the back end work to get everything shipped as fast as humanly possible. Believe me when I say there's no one on the face of the planet that's more frustrated than me with how this process has turned out. I lose sleep over it every day.

You can also believe me when I say it will be worth the wait. The Mantis is awesome. I hung in the final prototype today for about 30 minutes working with the production Predator. This combo is gonna be deadly.

This is what I did to mitigate the weight and uncertainty of having products before my season. I purchased the tried and true sit drag with some dump pouches and a few things to accommodate my RC Harness that I already own and use with my climber. I will practice with that in the interim. Once I have both systems in hand, I can compare and decide if I want to keep one or the other, use one to demo for friends to try, or keep both for a backup. A lot of money up front but I am sure I can sell with minimum loss (ie shipping).

The same thing happened last year with the Kestrel from Aero Hunter. It took time to receive their saddles, they had to wait on carabiners. So be patient they will come. I'm waiting on a platform when it gets here it gets here. I'm sure Greg and Ernie feel bad but sometimes things are out of their hands. My Mom use to say patience is a virtue.

I agree that the tethrdnation.com has been awesome about being transparent and upfront with all the news. And I do understand that this whole situation about moving deadlines back is out of their hands. But people have spent good money for a product and patience is wearing thin my question is are they prepared to start refunding money when the product doesn't show up by hunting season.

Yup. We have a 100% money back/refund guarantee. No questions asked and no hard feelings.

I went all in and ordered the mantis set up early. Saddles are not new to me so I am fine with waiting. Seems alot of folks are fine with waiting do to an emotional connection with the product and its builders. Thats cool, I understand it, and lucky for Tethrd this is the case.

Those that are expressing concern, without these connecting emotions warping their brain, should not be told to simply accept waiting because its a " great company", and the product will be "awesome". Time will tell for sure, and I want nothing more than to support these guys. Like many others, I have and will support Tethrd with cold hard cash and positive word of mouth. My experience now will determine my loyalty in the future.
The build up of the Mantis was a superlative effort. The support from the saddle community has been tremendous. Its now time to begin meeting some of the expectations which were put forth to generate sales.
In another thread there is a discussion about a new platform breaking. Yet I dont see any real responses to this claim as of yet. I want to hear more about this soon in an update.

Speaking for myself, the only update I want to see is an email with a tracking number. I am good with waiting, but a weekly reminder telling me nothing is happening is counterproductive. The folks waiting now are the most important customers Tethrd will ever have.

Good luck to Tethrd, I am waiting patiently, for now.

Regards,
Have a great season everyone.

Chad

For several years I owned a traditional archery shop and had a ecommerce website while working a full time job and 3 small children. I made custom arrows back then so if I wasn’t running the shop, I was building arrows, tuning bows, boxing up purchases for shipping, etc. When you choose to go into business and promise something you better deliver or your reputation suffers. You are only as good as your word. Do they “deserve a break”? Nope. They started a business to make money. It’s no longer a hobby for them. I’m not saying anyone from Tetherd is good or bad or lied or anything like that. Greg and Ernie seem to be stand up guys but this could have been handled better. Lesson learned. They get serious props for keeping people updated on the why and how too. I’m confident the stuff will get here eventually as I don’t plan on cancelling my order. I would guess a year from now it will be a different story. Hopefully with a happy ending.

Not sure any company would send out an email to explain one manufacturing defect to all of it's customers. If they all had to be recalled is a different story. Plus there is no way Ernie has even got his hands on it yet. I'm sure we'll hear something on here once they figure it out.

The transparency is definitely amazing! One negative thing for future promotion though is on some of the podcast I listen to, the host are waiting on saddles. At this point they may not be able to talk about them when this years hunting content is created. Wish there was a way to help on those orders for extra promotion

To be clear I am not trying to stir the pot or peeve anyone off. Heck I have only posted once on this site! Its a great site with some super cool folks. Also I cant wait for the Mantis and I am rooting for Tethrd like no other. Now with that disclaimer out of the way , I will try to make my point.

I dont see why they wouldnt immediately respond in one email. I dont want an explanation nor do I expect one. Just hey guys and gals , this is our plan of attack on this. Thats it. Short N' sweet.

Tethrds' entire marketing campaign is based on a " personal" connection to its primary customers. It has benefited from the personal relationships here. Why not seize the chance to furthur solidify that bond? Harden that layer of loyalty. Missed opportunity in my opinion.

Anyhoo I am back to patiently waiting. I wont cancel if it takes a year.

Regards

Chad

I merged my orders after ordering the predator in May and the Mantis in June. Is this delaying my Predator delivery because I really need that more than the Manitis? #regretmerge?

I hear ya. I have a bear hunt next Saturday and I would love to use the platform. I’d even pay for shipping. Is it a possibility to get them shipped separately? @Erniepower
