New Aerohunter saddle

3 questions

How are you pulling the flex out and putting it back in? Maybe I just have a huge ass but mine is in full flex the whole time.

How do you keep the prussics from coming undone when the back band is not attached?

How are you rolling up the backband?

It stays put for me for the most part until I reach down and pull it. To put it back smaller, I just fold it back or push the webbing up some.

For now, I am taking the prusiks off the bridge and clipping them onto the clips. I just fold it in half and then roll it up from the wide side and put a rubber band around it. For short hunts, likely will not use it anyway.

I've had people walk right past me hanging in the woods, I'd rather not have that bright orange if I don't need it.
Nothing more annoying than having a bird (or other deer) hunter pass by, see you in the tree and decide its a good opportunity to have a prolonged discussion about the weather/what and how many you're seeing/mast crops condition/what the hell is that you're sitting in?/etc. . . . I wear camo more to hide from other people than I do to hide from the deer.

Don't get chatty with me in the woods.
When I'm walking along and I see another hunter, the 1st thing that enters my mind is how can a get out of here with the least disturbance to the guy's hunt.
Geeze, I dont like to talk back at the parking lot, let alone in the woods.
And yep, camo is for hiding from other people, not for hiding from critters.

So... for those of you that have the saddle. How’s the sizing? I ordered a size 1 , last year I got a size 2 kite which I felt was big. I traded it for a large mantis. Mantis fit better, I’m a 35 waist. I got an email that mine is shipping around the 28th. So now I have time to overthink it. So far what are your thoughts on how it fits?

You just described how I operate to a "T".

I’m worried about sizing now as well. Based on some video I watched I ordered a size 1 but I’m questioning that now. I’m 34” waist 6’2” 210 lbs

I'm about the same size as you. I'm 5'11" 200lbs. I'm glad I got size 2. I do have a size 1 kestrel, big difference in comfort. If you only lean, the size 1 is was great for me.

Most people like to size up

But the Flex is a new unknown saddle
But I have never regretted sizing up so size 2 is what I ordered. 36 waist 200 pounds

I’m a little worried as well, but I was hoping the the “flex” would make up the difference since I’m on that line of sizing. I had a size 2 kite , felt big. I don’t really layer much on my legs just my core area. It doesn’t really drop too low in temp till the end of the season here. I’m gonna stick with the size 1, Sophia said I could switch it if it doesn’t fit but I didn’t ask about timeline regarding exchange. I guess time will tell.

The flex sizing is the same hip to hip as the Kestrel.

I just got mine yesterday. I’m about a 30-32 waist and the size one is pretty dang comfortable.
After walking around and playing with it a little bit more, I realized am not a fan of the fabric on the insides. It makes noise when you walk / make adjustments

It's great, very easy to adjust. Just take the pressure off and it moves with little effort, but doesn't move under full weight. Probably my favorite bridge so far out of rope, amsteel and webbing.

Removed those heavy back band clips (24 grams), they were annoying. Replaced them with DMM XSRE carabiners (8 grams - 4kn). Red to match the loops on the Flex.

So I was messing around with the saddle this weekend. With the webbing bridge they sewn the loops really tight to the bridge loops. So when your sitting in your saddle you can push down bridge on the loops and it really cups your butt. It only takes about a 1/2" of movement to really feel it. This saddle just keeps getting better every time I sit in it!

Thats why I configure my Amsteel bridge the way I do on my Kestrel. I make an overhand knot or clove hitch around the loop before I do the bury. It locks tight on the loops. Its just an additional way to fine tune comfort.
