Hey Gator. The normal process for the CA’s is that you are considered a probationary CA hunter the first 2 years. There are about 8-9 probationary CAs that you can go into alone while probationary. You can also go into the remaining CAs during that 2 year period as long as you go with a veteran CA hunter. After two years as a probationary hunter with no violations, you become a veteran CA hunter and can hunt all the CAs. If you didn’t get the CA permit when you got your permits last fall, do so now and get into a CA or two during the upcoming spring turkey season. That way you can count 21/22 season as your first year. I’ve been a veteran for years but for the past couple years I’ve only hunted the CAs a few times. Really hunted them to maintain veteran status. Plenty of deer in the TA’s.
Yeah my issue is you have to get the free CA probationary permit in order to go over there. For whatever reason, I do not have a CA probationary permit available under my permits (even though the GW agreed that I should have it). I've called multiple times but never get anyone and I forget about it until threads like this cause me to think about it again....

Yeah there was an issue early on that the CA permits weren’t showing. They resolved it. Of course you will have to watch the video again. After you watch videos, log out then log back in. It should populate the CA permit. That’s what we all had to do last September. And yes they are bad about returning calls.

Thanks. Just rewatched and the CA probationary popped right up! Thanks again.
