Novix/Trophyline Mission Platform

I think the OOAL scout would be great for run and gun with a rifle/crossbow, but I just don't like shooting like that to the weak side with my compound.
Weak side shot on the scout is definitely a tough one. I was practicing the other day. Keeping still and keeping a pin on a target for more than 10 seconds (real life hunting situation is most of the time much longer IMO) will put some real strain on your core. Its a very nice platform but I think a backband is definitely a life saver to keep you still/relaxed when a weakside shot is available. I do think that saddles keep my legs from wobbling when something nice walks in. With rifle it doesn't matter but when they get close enough for a bow kill I still wobble so bad from excitement I get spotted often. Most of the time I still get the kill but sometimes I dont even bother hahaha. Im like a 14 yr old in front of Pam Anderson with my pants down. Never gets old! I cant frickin wait til Sept 11th

got alittle side tracked there

Weak side shot is tough on a scout lol

And a saddle if used in a regular stand isn't fall protection from what I understand! So I use a rock harnesses for that with a tether.

Yeah, not saying I haven’t done it with my actual saddle but rock harness would probably be much safer vs an unloaded bridge in that situation. And most saddles would probably not be the best to sit on. Perfect situation for a fleece saddle, rock harness, treestand combo.

I also have my tether with a prusic and bowline knot to the tree on my left side and I can turn around all the way to the right with the prusic adjustment. With left handed bow and the best thing is you can turn and face the tree and adjust the tether as a saddle and leanback and out on the sides!

Yosemite Bowline! Best knot ever.

The slots are for the standoffs, not the tube? So they are not 1 inch and pack horizontal. Hard pass on this platform.

But...

If you do the @GBlevins92 mod to make the standoffs rotate, you may be back in business. Especially if @DanO comes out with a single step that let's you side stack them without staggering.

I’ve secretly been hoping novix (lone wolf) would have copied my design by now lol ...... I’d really had a winner if I could have ever found a good way to use magnets to get them to lock to one another but all my attempts failed, I do like the fact that you can now have an assassin for a reasonable price I’d like to play on one but it’s probably more platform than I find necessary.

Do we think those slots are 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch? I don't have a LW standoff to measure. One redeeming factor for me ... the Shikar sticks may fit in those slots like a glove?

Just saw that @Cbigbear mentioned his Stick Talons earlier in the thread

Those should allow for better stacking lower and on either side of post

Plus he’s a fellow SH & worth supporting

When I talked to them, I threw my hat in the ring for a side stacking design as well. Sucks having to pay $300 to get that feature on a stock stick. Maybe a patent is to blame?

Possibly I’m sure if it’s patentable they did, having owned them I can say they weren’t worth it to me I like my modded sticks better.
