Ok, a long range plink at a aluminum can this morning. This was shot number 1 at 50 or 52 yards with my 44 pound Mathews Heli M bow, five hundred and eighty grain arrow tipped with a Zwicky judo point. Twenty Two percent FOC. Making these long range shots gives me confidence when I am trying to pinwheel a deer at 15 yards. No way I'm shooting at a deer this far, but it is fun to play around at these distances.
Wow, what is the distance between your 20 yard and 50 yard pin with an arrow that weight? I ask because I shoot a Bowtech at 70lbs with 440 grain arrows and the drop off is pretty good after 40 yards. Like you, I would never take a shoot that far just practice it to get ready for the 15-20 yard shots.
Thanks.

I really have no idea, lol. I got the sight with the bow. It had 4 pins. I like single pin sights, so I removed two pins. I moved one to the center of the sight housing as my primary, then used the sights adjustments to zero it at 25 or so. Then I just dropped the lower remaining pin down to the very bottom and tightened it. As luck would have it, it corresponds to right at 50 yards with my arrow set up.

My first shot from 10 yards was a heart shot!!! But I was videotaping with my phone to review my many flaws. I should have stopped and took the picture because that one was obviously straight luck. These are my 20th -25th shots to end the night. I only hit my forearm one time which is a great improvement. I think not having a forearm guard and not enjoying pain has helped in that area.
Maybe if I got my wife to smack me in the back of the head every time I plucked the string that would get better also.

I have two older Elite E32's that are setup almost identically. I use one as my primary hunting bow and the other as a backup. When I've been shooting this summer I've been shooting the backup. I haven't shot or a few days and today I thought "Well I probably should take a couple of shots with the primary bow and my hunting arrows just make sure its still on." Looks like its still okay.

First cold shot is the one to the right, second shot is slightly left.

First day back out to shoot in awhile. First shot of the day at 40 then a group a little later with one flyer. I understand the need to practice but man just taking one good shot a day with a compound feels like plenty after a certain point. Hoping for plenty of live targets this coming season.

I decided to string up the 62# Howard Hill Tembo this morning and fling a few arrows after spending some time with the 44# compound. This is shot #1 at about 12 yards. I'm happy with that one.

Back at this dang traditional bow again... I said I was done until I get my freezer stocked with the compound but this is like crack.
Just 10 yards. 1st shot and then the rest of the group. Actually shot more but need to really hone in on establishing a consistent anchor and back tension.

My Glendale buck target is gassed. I’m debating on buying a new core for $80 and just continuing to keep it together with cam straps or upgrading to a nice rhinehart deer target. $80 seems high for a block of foam but so does $250 for a nice target. Anyone have more than one core experience with a Glendale? Thoughts on rhinehart deer?

Those cores have almost doubled in price fast. I have had three cores over the years. All of them last at least two years until I start shooting broadheads into them regularly. Shooting compound only. I’m fortunate to live close to a bass pro catalog store where you can get cores for half off if you’re lucky. Does Glendale sell blem cores?
