PigMageddon 2017

You forgot to mention that you had access to canoe rentals. That and the pass and permit office sales bait so all anyone would really need to bring is there rod. I actually considered bringing a rod and letting my son fish while we were moving around. I haven't read the rules on fishing but they did tell me at pass and permit that you couldn't be in possession of a firearm while fishing. I'm not sure how that would play out with the warden.
@g2outdoors do you think the river will come down enough in the next week to make using the boat as transport feasible?

++UPDATE++

PigMaHunters - I'm going to try to make this easy on me (and everyone else). The Pigmageddon "Hunt Fee" will be $50

This covers:
$30 - BBQ Dinner Friday, Saturday, Sunday nights.
$15 - Event t-shirt.
$5 - Paper plates, cups, napkins, and drinks (I'll provide all of this)

You'll still need to pay for your campsite. I'm not trying to make money here, just cover most of my out of pocket expenses.
Questions?

The river levels should be good as long as we don't get any major rain.

The river is getting close to 8' which is approaching max height. Anything around 9 or 10 is too high. Below 8 is better.

Looking at the weather forecast, there's nothing major on the 10 day outlook. I'm optimistic about using the rivers.

Another thing to keep in mind - these rivers, especially on the eastern side of FT Stewart, are affected by the tides. The land will look COMPLETELY different based on what the tide is doing at the moment. I've hunted islands that were bone dry at low tide, and covered in 6 inches of water at high tide. No kidding.

Couldn't have made it any easier!

Just talked to the campground, there are no RV sites available. They don't take reservations for tent sites, but they should be good to go, just have to show up between 11am and 5pm.

I'm tracking the tent sites. They won't be a problem to get. I'm surprised about the RV sites. That sucks.

G2 It will be Friday before I get there. Is there anything you can think of I can bring for camp? I've got a few folding tables, propane lantern, stove etc.

For those of us that can't make it, I fully expect a "live" thread so we can live vicariously through y'all...
if this happens next year, I might try to convince my wife that letting me go would make a great birthday/valentines present :)

I would bring all your "camp stuff". We won't have electricity, so any lanterns and what not would be helpful. I have a couple folding tables I'll bring, but that would be nice too.

I also need to source half a cord of firewood. A camp fire is non-negotiable.

Firewood is a must, we have no problem splitting the cost.

Got a last minute assignment to Campbell, PDD mid march. Was hoping but it's all gone now for me. I can only hope this becomes a yearly thing
