The reason I mention ScentLok is because they own the exclusive rights to use activated carbon in hunting clothing because they own the US patent for doing so. Prior to ScentLok getting into the scent control garment game there was nothing but field sprays with sodium bicarbonate and they simply don't get the job done in the slightest no matter what the hundreds of commercials state.
Concerning ScentLok coming out with garments in 2017 that are not entirely impregnated with activated carbon, that's true but they are only layering garments. All exterior garments and accessory garments are totally impregnated with activated carbon.
Some of the 2016 and 2017 Nexus under layers only have activated carbon in specific panels where odor is more of an issue. Those same garments do have Gold Alloy which is particles of gold and silver laced throughout the garments and they are natural anti-microbials. I believe that for 2018 SL will have a line of undergarments that are again 100% impregnated with activated carbon (and Gold Alloy) because I know they just came out with a lightweight piece a couple weeks ago.
For the record, I wear merino wool undergarments far more than ScentLok's undergarments and it's strictly because they are more comfortable. Merino wool has qualities that no other fabric does in that it is an insulator when cold out and in a thin layer piece, it keeps you cool when its warm and it does both because of the areas where merino sheep are raised.
No matter the undergarment, I ALWAYS wear ScentLok as my exterior layer. Take that back, in a hard rain I wear Rivers West as an exterior suit because ScentLok doesn't make a descent waterproof suit.
Hi John
I have a savanna suit I wear under other clothes when it is cold.
I spray the outer clothes with activated coconut carbon and water is that adequate. I don't want to spend $$$$ on more clothes.
I have a scentlok head covering and gloves too and spray my pack with the same spray. I have a room with an ozone Machine for my non scent lok gear as well
