Great story, thanks for sharing! Congrats! I used to hunt Pretty Boy and Liberty a lot, so I can really relate to your recovery and haul out. Brings back great memories for me!
Thank you I should take you up on that. I have a pop-up 38 and a exo k4 so no real excuse for why I still bring that 80 lb cart out lol. I think in hindsight I was waaaaay too careful with the skinning, he had a good 3/4+ inch fat covering most of his back etc, so I could have likely gone much quicker with that portion. One small benefit to bringing him home is I am going to try to tan the hide. I think. We'll see how I'm feeling this weekend, it's in a bag in the freezer for now.Congrats man!!!!!! Btw offer still stands on a quick hands on demo for gutless & pack out…….. a popup is a super cheap investment & you won’t be near as sore & deer is ready for cooler when you get home at 1030-11pm. Good luck!Y'all got me PUMPED. I just settled in about 3. Paddled up a slough and bailed off on the other side. Walked the edge through some chest high stuff and found the mother of all persimmon groves. There's scat everywhere and at least 10 trees within 30 yards of me. Loaded.

A bust lol wind wasn't ideal and my approach may have been a little closer to the direction they were coming from? Hard to tell. Saw two fat@ss raccoons climb and eat straight from the tree. Saw 5 deer driving out well past dark. Hopefully revisit with a North/West wind.WWWWEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLL how did it go
Ah dang. Deer contest is a distant second compared to health and well-being. I hope whatever's going on you get through quickly.I just landed myself in the ER. Didn’t even get to hit the grouse hunt to hard, and still up in the UP with the wife kid and dog. I am thinking my plans to get out any time soon are not going to happen. They are doing piles of tests but count me out of the race until they get this figured out.
Good luck out there and be safe fellas.

Went and still hunted during the rain in the afternoon (not for the contest, no saddle). Jumped a buck, but too far off for the bow, not that I could've legally shot it anyway because I'm tagged out on my buck in PA. I was hoping for a doe... Here's some pics of where I hunt and things you find on public lol (all that ground cover in the first pic is waist-high blueberry brush).Anybody out this weekend? My next attempt is 21-23
Valid. No sense in blowing out a spot if you’re gonna return. Plenty of season left. Finally made it out this afternoon. 2 does and a 5 pt. Action is always good but not what I’m looking for. This spot is not a doe spot for me, a couple good bucks running around so I do not want to mess up the area just yet by shooting a doe. I should be getting more time here shortly. We will see if I can put some points on the board
Good job guys! Keep it up
