Team 10

I sat Saturday morning and evening. They came through too early in the morning and since it was raining it was also really quiet, good to set up though (PA)... In the evening I hunted NJ, and it was REALLY windy, although kinda sunny and decent temps. I had a bear at 7 yds. and then had two deer feed down off the top of the mountain right to me, but they were really on edge because of the wind and wouldn't cross the bears path. The closest they came was 40 yds. facing me in some thick stuff, if they broke the 25 yd. mark I was shooting lol. Ah well, next Saturday, and back to my self-imposed restriction on a buck...

Had one of my best sits that didn't result in a deer down tonight. Watched a spike and a nice buck push around 5-6 does/fawns about 60-80 yards away, then had a spike and a spork come by at around 15. Super awkward angle across the bridge and behind me( couldnt turn around) so I decided I'd let them walk unless I got a perfect shot opportunity, never did and didn't want to take a risky shot after seeing so many deer here. I'll be back tomorrow and likely Friday evening/all day Saturday so shifting trees to the other side of the area(wind depending) and going to hope for similar activity

Spike and buck sparring while someone is running a leaf blower or something in the background:

Just shot my bow a little. First couple shots are good then I get winded and it all falls apart. Going to shoot a bit today and tomorrow and try to get out and evening or two at the end of this week. I think by next week I should be good to go.

Glad to hear about the progress! Hope you continue on the mend quickly

Moving in the right direction is all that matters. Rest up, remember we do this for fun, enjoyment and love of the outdoors.

Back in the woods again. Bumped 3-4 deer in the way in, hopefully I didn't booger up the area too bad and they or a different one come back througg.

Post dark edit: had a doe trot through at around 30 too quickly to get an opportunity, and then it seems like the rest of em all came back just after shooting light ended, crunchy steps everywhere. One blew at me as I walked out.

I'll be back Friday/Saturday.

Plan to get out this evening and do some doe patrol now that we can shoot does. We can only shoot bucks the first 10 days of the season.

Only saw one deer today, let this little spike walk. I may shoot him if I see him in rifle or late archery, but decided he's not an october buck.

Also saw the same fox I've seen in this area before. Nice coat, Kinda wish I could shoot him but not allowed here.

Just shot a little doe and saw her go down so +5 for us. She's... Gonna be tender lol. Staying in the tree for a while to see if another comes by, there was a more mature doe that came through about 60 yards away and trotted over and sniffed the littler one while it was dying. She walked off the wrong direction though.

Man team 10 on a roll!

I’ve been a consistent producer the last several years. Time to see what I’m made of.

Feeding her deer is probably more fun than killing em. But one has to come first.

Oh, and it’s actually the last bit of elk from 2 years ago.

Don’t worry boys I’ll bring up the rear late this season…

Well I just shot doe #2... Gonna have to make myself quit because I've got a lot of work to do now.

Edit: found em both pretty easily. turns out the first one was a button buck. WhoopsScreenshot_20231028-085141.pngivr been wanting to donate a deer to FHFH for a while so going to try to find a local processor to drop one of them off at. Now to gut and haul them out...

I'm on a four day hunt in WV primarily to shoot some does from this farm, but first deer to show up was a nice 7point and I couldn't resist. I'm kind of remote so will get pics and the submission later today, if I can.

Got him submitted for us! Now if I can just find a doe to shoot at. It is really hot and not much is moving.
