Tethrd Predator CFX

I wonder if the creaky noises are from the carbon platform sliding back and forth on the head of that adjuster bolt when it flexes?
Seems like there two different distinct noises that come from it. There's a rice crispis cereal pop thats subtle and seems to come from the carbon itself. There a second beast stand like screech that sounds like it's coming from the bracket.

Man, just like @Zero One Actual said earlier in this thread, it falls on a REAL “saddle hunter” to make a REAL product overview, demonstrating the thing like we would want to see it be demonstrated, no frills or Tethrd cork-soaking. @HuskerInIowa did more with that 4m video than pretty much all the “mobile hunting” product reviews on YT combined.
Dude it actually looked like a respectable piece of hunting equipment in your video. How come none of the other vids so far make it seem so…useable? You didn’t even try to convince us of anything, just showed what the thing does under real normal saddle rigors.
Like, damn man. What a breath of freshness compared to the usual YouTube fare. You and the half-pint camera guy should do more of this stuff.
Haha cork soakers was an awesome bit.

Yea definitely didn't change my mind, but was great to see someone do a real life review with no ulterior motive one way or the other. I enjoyed it.

Agreed it looked legit in this video, just still doesn't interest me thus far. I hope it treats guys well, but I am not really in the market for a stand alone platform. Or if I am being honest "another" stand alone platform lol

New to the forum, but not to saddle hunting or hunting in general.

I came here looking for info on this platform, and ended up buying one to try out. I also picked up a Arsenal RZR Magnum and wanted to compare both against my TrophyLine Mission.

Overall, I preferred the Tethrd CFX and sold the others. I can’t say that I have any noises from my CFX, and I’m overall really impressed with it. I like the shape of the platform, find it to be quiet, and locked very well to the tree. It weighed in identical to the Arsenal RZR, but I found the CFX to be way more stable on setup. The RZR doesn’t really cam lock onto a tree, the platform always wanted to raise up. I also don’t like that the RZR only has 2 teeth on the top, which really limits my placements. The Mission is a super solid platform, but significantly bulkier and heavier and I just couldn’t find any real benefit to keeping it over the others.

I set the CFX with the included strap but also just received an Amsteel USA Pro that I’ll try as well.

Anyways, I decided to post on here since most of the commentary is speculation based on YouTube videos.. so wanted to share my personal experience. I’d be happy to answer any questions. I think it’s a pretty nice piece of gear from what I’ve seen so far.

This is a solid take.
Welcome to the forum, thanks for this.
I also appreciate the comparisons to other platforms.
You could save some cats a lot of time watching the videos you mentioned, just by reading your “review”.
Jeez, we have the real YT stars and gear gurus right in this thread and we didn’t have to hit “Skip Ad” first.

Anyone tried to paint this yet? Not super warm but better than I should be this time of year here and I’ve got the day off tomorrow. Might have to see how things go. Worst case it peels and I rub some dirt on it and get back in the game.

It's 100 percent gonna peel off unless you use some surface prep that might weaken it. But on the bright side, you're supposed to rub dirt on it anyway :)

good luck, hope it works

i sponge painted my tethrd predator and it has all worn off except down in the crevices, it still improves it

i bet you'll get a stonewashed look
My predator held up all season, not saying it’ll do 5 but the first one looks more or less like the day I’d finished it. I did hunt out of the CFX for the last month. You probably have more hours on it though. All in the game, we both like to experiment with things and for me preseason with 9-10 months until I get in a tree after deer is a good time to at least get my paint failure smell off it. Lol

What helped my predator last for 3 years and counting has been self-etching metal primer as the base coat and about 5 coats of matte clear top coat. Still looks pretty darn good

Carbon fiber primer probably better for the CFX
That’s what I’m going with, just happened to have some and I’ve still got plenty of paint from doing my predator so I’ll give it a go.
