Soft mast is off the charts. Pears, crabs, grapes, cherries, hawthorn, and apple are everywhere. My chestnuts and sequins are fair. My dwarf chinkapin oaks are loaded too.
Not sure yet about the wild oaks.
I saw a few white oak acorns on the ground the other day while scouting. They were undoubtedly knocked down by the recent storms. I'm hoping for a better turnout this season. We have had a tough couple of years as far as acorns are concerned. Time will tell.
I’ve never seen so many apple trees loaded like this year in OH.
All the apple trees in my area lost there buds due to a late frost. Red oaks are loaded.. Hoping the white oaks are loaded this year too.
Persimmons so far look to be about avg, so plenty. Honey Locust is spotty at best, lots of trees I have checked so far didnt produce this year. In the mountains, white oaks I think are going to be pretty good based on what I have seen. Last year was a pretty strong year for red and black oaks so not expecting much from them. Havent been back down south lately to see about the nutall, cow oaks, over cups or water oaks.
I planted apples, pears and crabs at my buddy's place in the hills and they were all looking good before we had a couple weeks of stupid hot weather. Will be back up to check them in a couple weeks when we plant the fall plots.
I have some walnuts on my trees this year. Last year just a few. Year before a bumper crop. Red oak next to my house has been sprinkling across. Seen some white acorns around work dropping. Hopen the black Oaks down at the farm I hunt are loaded. Deer come to those like magnets when they start falling.
We have had a lousy growing season so far this year. Very wet spring and summer. Our local farmers are all gonna lose their shirts this year. The apple trees in my area are pretty loaded but the apples are all small. As far as the oaks go the red oaks I've seen so far are hit or miss. They either are loaded or have nothing so when they start to drop I'm gonna have to be there or miss the boat. They will get cleaned up fast I'm sure. I haven't checked the white oaks yet as there aren't a ton of them in my hunting areas.
We already have some black walnuts dropping. Seems a little early.
I'm having some small white acorns (green) knocked down from the past storms, but I'm nervous because the Gypsy Moth caterpillars are bad here...
Down here in middle GA I’m seeing a few green muscadines the coons have knocked out. I haven’t seen any signs of acorns yet. They usually don’t start dropping until Oct. All of my early season set ups revolve around muscadines.

Forgot about the muskydimes. We seem to have a pretty good crop of them this year. They will be gone by the time season starts though.
My mothers house in cape may Nj has a lot of pin oaks dropping because of the severe weather we have been having.
I think it was so dry for so long then all of a sudden we got rain and high winds every few days for the last few weeks.
I also have been driving around some of my woods roads that go through public I junt and am seeing acorns along the roads.
Not alot but they are there.

Wild plums boomed at my work persimmon look good have had a wet august thus far
Everything in Iowa is dry and dead and there are no food sources of any kind. Everywhere in the state. No reason to come to any public land here this season or apply for future tags. I’ve heard great things about Indiana and Kansas though!
The white oaks are doing great. They had a down year here last year it seemed like but the black oak are about average.
Already have white oaks dropping around me in Northern Michigan. Saw some small crab trees full. I've never come upon crab apple trees, not sure if these are wild or were put there by somebody. There was several white oaks next to them, but 5 out of 6 died since last year, likely from the gypsy moth infestation the last few years around us. Loads of oak trees dying.
