Nice string of beards and fans. That’s my normal display preference also but wanted something special for the shadow box bird. It’s actually the last bird I killed in Tennessee on my grandparents farm. It’s made from cedar. I had to make the crown in it as I couldn’t find Cedar crown to buy. It helps that I really love working with wood and making one off custom furniture pieces for my friends and family. If you’d like I can get the dimensions for what I have so you’ll have an idea of the size needed. I made it so all four sides have the same clearance from any part of the feathers and beard.
Yeah that would be awesome if you don't mind

Well my daughter and I had no luck tonight. But, a weird thing happened to her. She was sitting about 100 yards from me and a buck or a doe... she is not sure which seemed to stalk around behind her and snorted within 30 yards for about 15 minutes. I could hardly believe it but I certainly heard it and saw it from a distance when it finally ran off.
My son had a similar experience years ago but it was in a remote helicopter fly in while tree planting in BC. There was a buck that approached several planters individually and stomped the ground near them while planting trees. But that deer probably never saw a human before.
I know it sounds unbelievable but anyone else ever had that happen.
I think the experience was almost as good as killing a turkey. She wonders why she always sees turkeys when deer hunting and sees deer while turkey hunting. HAHA. She missed a nice buck last fall but saw lots of turkeys.

I had a doe and fawn 15 feet down wind of me. I was sitting on the ground against a tree. She new where I was but not what I was. She bobbed her head, stomped, looked away then snapped her head to try and catch me moving. This went on for about 10 min before she moved on.
Trying not to blink was super hard. It’s was cool to wait her out so close.

Here's a pic of my camo cart for pulling my ground blind into the woods. It use to be my golf cart for pulling my golf bag but since I hurt my back I don't golf anymore. It works great.

Worked 18 hours yesterday cultivating edible bean ground . Auto steer makes long days easier. A little wet today Finally got out turkey hunting the third time this year. It took ten minutes and I got a Tom. I got too excited and missed the first shot but not the second. He attacked my Jake decoy - took a strong dislike to him. He wanted the hen decoy to himself

Unfortunately I put a pellet in my avian x decoy on that second shot . What is the best way to repair it.

I don't know if this would work but you could try some Tear Mender or a kit that patches chest waders. Tear Mender fixes any type of clothing width patches and you can wash the patches and they stay on . It might work. Good luck

Beautiful bird congrats

In the tub to find the bubble. Then use aquaseal--it's a rubbery glue for waders that will flex a little after drying. Fixed a small barbed wire tear in my gortex waders four years ago and they are still going strong.
