totally agree, but you would be required to adjust the wrap and hook on the woopie end every time you adjust the loop size. You can build the whoopie without having access to the platform. I girth hitch my whoopie sling to the platform.

are you wrapping around the frame before hooking on the ear? I am interested in pictures. Not really. It self adjusts under tension.
I played with the ones I have here, and your numbers are spot on. If you plan on a 6" minimum tree, you get a max of around 12-13". For this example I marked the rope with a Sharpie 18" from the end of the fixed loop and again 13.57" past that. Feed the tail end into the rope at the second mark and back out at the first. A small knot or butt splice will keep it from pulling back out. By adjusting the 18" Mark longer you can accommodate larger trees, but your minimum goes up as well.I reworked the rope to a whoopie sling. There is plenty of rope for this.
Takes a minute to nail down the setup process, but once you do it's easier to adjust- no slip.
I believe this is the ticket.
Edit -
"Plenty of rope" means for the trees I would set up in. 8" - 12" dia. 12" max the way these ropes are now set up. It will work on smaller trees as well, down to 5"-6"
If I'm seeing this right - moving the bury further from the fixed loop would allow setup on larger trees, but also increase minimum size. ie 12' - 18"
@g2outdoors - I'm also curious about what your measurement is and maximum tree size
Yep I got it. I replied in tapatalkErnie sent payment two days ago. Did it come through? Messaged through Tapatalk.

hey i"m new here, trying to figure this all out. is this the kit that you sell? the brace and hardware and rope? i would still need a seat and the "cleats" that go on the tree, correct? Here is a picture. I'm playing with the idea of riveting the steel plate on.

That is the kit. And yes you need the xop seat and 2 of the tree brackets.hey i"m new here, trying to figure this all out. is this the kit that you sell? the brace and hardware and rope? i would still need a seat and the "cleats" that go on the tree, correct?
Im not sure i understand the problems guys are having? is it that the platform is slipping when you put pressure on the side?
Yes, this seat is carried up and used as a platform. It is different than the hand climber seat which is used to climb also.I think I'm getting this thread mixed up with one G2 had started with the Lone Wolf or XOP hang on stand seat. He uses a similar looking set up to cam lock that unit to the tree for a stand, however, it is carried up rather than used as a climbing aid. Am I missing anything?
The cam down method is the same though?
