Your climbing method.

I've got 5 stepps I've been practicing with, thinking I would get more later if I liked them. Got to where I was planning to mix them with my modified heliums. Now I've been messing with the knaider and swaider, 20+ft with 4 stepps.

I only have wild Edge steps in my Arsenal this year so I am forced to get good with them. So far after two weeks of practice I am pretty happy. Now to get the aider, knaider, swaider puzzle solved.

Nothing 90%. I'm like 20-25% spurs, stepps, bolts, and SRT. Less than 10%, sticks.

I use lonewolf sticks with aiders half the time and Wild Edge steps with Reds climbing aider the other half.

Preset SRT travelling setup 1 Muddy stick with Etrier rappelling rope. Rope Wrench preferred SRT device.

What platform do you combine with SRT?

Last year I only had the XOP Hand Climber so that was what I carried. The nice thing is that gave me a lot of flexibility. If for some reason, I didn't like one of my presets when I get out there, I could flex to a different area and use the XOP hand climber.

This year, I've added a XOP seat with Ernie's kit and I just found an old LW seat, so I'll be building that one up. Which will change my SRT platform to one of the post styles....I think without using them much, I'm not all that sure which one I'll use. I'm also probably loaning one to @rheusmc13(my brother).

The Etrier is connected to the stick and I climb rap down enough to advance the stick up the tree. I attach my rope as soon as I reach the top of the stick then keep advancing up using the climb stick/rap down until reaching desired height. After hunt rap down passing steps or platform remove go home. The rope wrench is a tool to both ascend or descend on a single line with a hitch- one of several hybrid srt devices Bulldog bone, Akimbo and Hitchhiker to name some.

That’s what i thought you’d say. I just tried fiddling with the hand climber while hanging. It went so so. I can see it improving with practice though.

I may post more details in the thread I started but so far I am more than satisfied with the hand climber!

I will be using WE Steps with an Aider a la Redsquirrel to the Predator platform. This year, there is a good chance that I may also be Rappeling down. Have the equipment based on my rock climbing past but have not tried from a hunting situation yet.

Since last season I have been using Infalt prototype sticks with aiders. This season I added WE Stepps w/aider. I will probably do 50/50 with each depending on where I hunt. The packability of the WE Stepps will be nice.

This year I will be using the WE steps with the aider/knaider combo when I am not hunting with my son. Getting really excited as this will be his first season.

My second season with the Stepps to climb up but it's my first season in the Kestrel so I'm going to use them as a platform. Probably going to get an aider to go along with it.
