Milkweed dispenser

I just picked the pods, double wrapped a standard chick pony tail rubber band around the pod and tossed them on a shelf to dry. Stick it in a pocket and hunt. Move the rubberband around as necessary to fish out what ya need. Simplest cheapest way to do it.

I have not seen Milkweed grow around here. Anyone know of a place where you can order it?

I found a couple of those old school black film canisters at my parents house that are pretty small and work perfect

I wait until the seed pods crack open but get em before they release the seeds. I crack them open and pull the seeds off the floats. They sail much better without the seed. you want to keep them in the pod the way they are, the big guy laid them out pretty good in there. I didn't like stuffing them into another container because it bends the floats and I don't think they float as good. then I staple them closed and use them. I made a little container out of duct tape with a flap. I disperse them with a little tweezer I keep inside of the holder. It keeps the floats from sticking to my gloves, and I can pull them out one by one. When one is empty I just open another pod and slide it into my holder.

Mine was an icebreakers dou mint container stealth stripped.

LOL, I found a bunch of pods and filled a baggy with them. I brought them home and put them on a paper plate in my bed room, a few days later they were all over my room. LOL I've got to say they are awesome, I've used them for may years. I don't think you can find anything better. All natural!

Sorry guys, but THE best container is the one mother nature already provides. Floaters stay pristine when left in the pod and pristine floater drift much better.
Put a rubber band around the pod so the floaters don't fall out and add a clip so you can keep it quickly handy.
No two ways about it...leave them in the pod.

Do you pull the seeds at all? I keep them in the pod but I like to take the seeds off. I staple the pods closed after I take the seeds off. Like I said, the big guy laid them out perfectly.

That’s how I do it as well.

I have 2 methods I use at the same time. I have the little rubber ozonics floater holder attached to my binoculars, but it doesn't hold much so I also use the green rubber coin purse idea like previously shown.

The ozonics one came with synthetic fibers so once they were gone I just replaced them with milkweed seeds.

That's why you wrap the pod with a rubber band.;)
