Got it! Sat in it, for about an hour! Oh my! This might just be my preferred hunting set up.

My JX 3 should be on its way soon. I am thinking I want to replace the hip belt with a spare padded backpack hip belt I already have. I don’t intend to carry the type of weight I would in my hunting pack with meat shelf, but I would like to pack out a bear head and hide comfortably. Then, I could always make a second trip back in with my meat pack to retrieve the meat. Anybody done a similar mod?

I haven’t had a heavy enough load in it that the stock setup wasn’t good enough. That said I do have load lifters on it now & that might be something I’d consider making a mid for that I could not use it all the time that way........ hmmm

After much reading and researching what I can here (and watching DIY Sportsman latest review) I made up my mind. I ordered a JX3 Hybrid. Can't wait to try it out! (from the ground first).

Going to start off with my XOP sticks and debating some WE steps at the top for more comfort. Time for some more reading. Can't thank everyone on this site enough for all of the available info.

Got mine in yesterday and have sat in it for few minutes in the yard...super comfortable, packs and carries well. Easy to set up. And absolutely top notch customer service from John. Not many companies that will take the time to text you back when you have questions. Season can’t get here soon enough!

John emailed me within a half hour of me ordering it to let me know he'll get me the tracking info as soon as it ships.

He seems like a great guy just from my limited interactions with him. Super responsive and loves feedback.

Did you just reach out to him today and actually get an order placed? I've been on a list for months.

I've been on the list since October 2018. I actually missed an email from April 12th from John with a link for pre order and then DIY Sportsman happened to post a video review of the JX3 today and it pushed me over the edge and I ordered it. If you go to the site without the link from John it says they are out of stock, with the link there is a quantity available. Not sure if it's the actual available quantity though.

Now has anyone tried any bridges other than the stock one? Thinking longer bridge would be tighter for a bow?

Just got my JX3 Hybrid! First impressions, this is a well thought out/engineered piece of hunting equipment. Seems well built and definitely worth IMG_1930.jpgthe money considering it includes LB, Tether, Bridge and (3) quality carabiners. Gotta sit in it to fully evaluate but I can already tell this will probably be my go to for gun hunting and long sits. Quick question for @kyler1945 , @Autumnrider or any JX3 veterans...what is the threaded insert I'm pointing to for? Sorry if somebody already asked this question and I missed it. I'm sure John would answer my question but I didn't want to bother him just yet.

As a lineman I have all kinds of safety tools. Gonna try this out.

It’s the equivalent to ropeman.

Just received mine today. I plan on giving it a trial run tomorrow on a hog hunt in the mountains. If I can figure out a way to add some pads to that hip belt to comfortably carry a little more weight I will be all set.

Just got mine today also. Fatherly duties prevented a full trial on a tree but out of the box this thing is dank!

Definitely a gun season all day dream machine!

On the back the weight feels like nothing. In your hand or in the box it feels like 10 lbs!

Cannot wait to load it, hump it, and install it to give it the full test drive tomorrow!

That is so you can add a camera arm.

I find it funny that most guys say this is there go to for gun or all day. This is an awesome bow stand and carrying it with one stick is almost as light as carrying a saddle and a platform and sticks.

I hear ya. I definitely plan to give that a go. I like the built in bow holder and limited movement necessary to grab it. I agree that the weight differential is at the margins depending on your overall setup. Maybe I'll end up selling my other saddle and platform.

Part of me sees a benefit of having a separate operation for gun season to look forward to. I tend to get a little bit down about things come November as the deer disappear and the orange army comes out in force. A new and ridiculously comfortable system might be the extra incentive to hit the hills.

Just a thought. Can't wait to try and compare!
