Thank you also for the videos and all the information,I'm excited to add the jx3 to my bag of tricks!lolI wanted to give a little perspective on the cost of the hybrid. Some folks are initially put off by the price tag.
A few details to keep in mind:
- any of the other available saddles will put you back roughly the same money when you consider lineman's, tether, biners, backrests, etc.
- doubles as a frame pack to carry gear and game in and out.
- doubles as a ground seat/turkey chair
-significant increase in comfort while in the tree
-far more complicated build, and thus ...
-cost of building the hybrid significantly higher than other saddles/lower profit margin
I add that last one in there for anyone who thinks the price of this thing is going to come down at some point. If anything, my guess is that it would go up. An alternative is to outsource materials/labor overseas, but that will come at some potential sacrifice in quality control and feelgood(made in USA!)
There are also drawbacks, but I wanted to specifically address the cheddah required to get your butt in one. I was one of the first handful of folks to get one, and any apprehension I had about the cost quickly faded when I got it in my hands.
I’m 56 with bad knees. On the private land I hunt. I’m hoping to do away with the lock-ons, still use the sticks/antenna tower. With the option to be more mobile if I see patterns develop. On public just being mobile. Comfort is top priority for me now. If the saddle thing doesn’t work out, it will be strictly a ground in the next few years. Might be anyway with these knees.

The Jx3 makes a good ground seat if you end up ground hunting
You can use it on a tree at ground level or just sitting on the ground

How high are you guys putting your tether for jx3?

Ok,thanks had it low yesterday it seems like it restricted movement around tree as you stated.Rained all day here so hopefully get back at it next weekendI prefer to put my tether as high as I can reach to get as much length as I can for skirting around tree. But you can come much lower. It won’t affect comfort, but will change angle of tether/bridge. You’ll want to play around and see where it’s best for you and how you get comfortable shooting. Unlike minimal saddle - it isn’t about comfort.
Anyone using the JX3 for sitting on the ground? Sitting on the ground, not feet on the ground hanging from a tree.
How about shooting a compound bow from that position on the ground?

If you sit attached to a large tree for cover you can push back from a sitting position to a standing angled position and shoot standing using the tree for cover
Then you are a few feet off the ground
