Heck yeah, we got a strong lineup for sure.
Joe from State College, PA. This will be my second season hunting mostly from a saddle. Third if you count some dabbling the year before. I'm 31 years old and this will be my 20th season bowhunting. Been hunting mobile my whole life but it was all climbers until a few years ago.
Modus operandi I hunt big woods, public land, mountain laurel bucks. I'm looking to tie my buck tag on a deer I figure is at least 3 years old and I have a pocket full of doe tags. I consider myself somewhat of a rut hunting specialist and aficionado and plan my strategy accordingly. I don't have any good prospects lined up for early season pattern hunting but that's usually the case for me.
Our bow season is October 5 - November 16th this year. I have about 8 vacation days scattered throughout November. After that I am going to do a long weekend trip to a yet to be decided neighboring state, then our rifle season and late season if need be. A few maples and the black gums are starting to turn colors. We've had a couple crisp days mixed in with the late summer heat. The anticipation is really building, I can't wait to get out there.
