Beast sticks

Has anyone used Amsteel daisy chain or Dan O versa straps on beast sticks? I have both and have beast sticks coming tomorrow. Someone posted about the amsteel rope mod and said it was no good on beast sticks because they bite so hard it's really hard to pull them off once set...I Think?
that was @DaveT1963 I believe.

I wonder if in a year or two of use (hot, cold, rain, snow, going through brush) all those open edges will start to degrade and peel.
Mine aren’t cut for that reason I burned them in so there are no loose edges, they kinda taper in at the same angle as the beveled hole. I feel pretty good about it, let you know in a couple years. (One season of use no wear)

I have the new mini versas and just got my Beast sticks. Have not tested yet but I’ll get back to you when I get a chance to test.

Curious about this. I just got 4 Beast sticks delivered yesterday. Wondering how the mini versa straps work with them.

I’m pretty busy today so I may not get to test until tomorrow but I’ll test the mini versas and amsteel rope mod and get back to you with a comparison as soon as I get a chance.

I didn’t like the mini versa straps being used as intended. It was a bit of a pain trying to open the loop a get it over the button and just as much of a pain removing them. I have started using the straps as a rope mod. Just wrap around the button under the straps a couple times without half hitches. I was a little nervous about not knotting them but it seems to hold very well.

I do the same with my lone wolf minis and the mini straps.

Thanks! Any advice on what to use to install the versa button if you don’t have a socket that will fit in the hole?

A 1/4" drive 7/16" socket will fit. That's what I had to use

Yep that was me.

Guys both work (Amsteel and Versa Straps). I am just super picky in my gear. I love Amsteel rope mods on sticks (nothing is lighter, stronger or quieter IMO) however, on the beast sticks, because they set so dang well and tight, it takes a lot of pressure (and thus noise) to pop the stick up enough to untie the knot or to remove the versa straps. I have not explored other tie on methods so there is that. But for me, and how set and tie on a stick ( three wraps and 2 half hitches) the Beast sticks are better with a strap and buckle - especially when it gets cold and fingers are a bit numb.

This is just my personal opinion and what works for me. You may get different mileage from your set ups.

Okay, now I see what all the fuss is about. I received the sticks today and inspected them. They are the best quality stick I've ever seen. The fit, finish, precision is all on point. So now the million dollar do I stealth strip them or not? In all the pictures of Dan carrying his they're not stealth stripped. So they don't seem too loud for him to use them without stealth strips?

Have you tested an Amsteel daisy chain? Heard they were easier to get on and off the button.

I haven’t used stealth strips. I got a new stick. Some updates to the sticks I see. Most noteworthy are the beefier and chamfered tree brackets. Different texture, color and a few less holes...

Weight between the old and new?

I received mine and promptly stealh stripped them. Man those tolerances!!!!! I’m having a hard time getting them together with the stealth on there.

Personal preference, just gear nerd stuff
