I’m looking for something to use on public lands in PA because you can’t damage the tree. Screen in hangers won’t work.

I bought an HYS from Tethrd and use one of the harness tool carriers I stumbled upon from amazon. Took some breaking and a bit of dremeling but the combo works very solidly. Hook looks like this and obviously I had to break it to make it do what I wanted.

On Saturday. I climbed a tree and then remembered my gear strap was in the truck. I used my back support band around the tree and clipped the bow to a carabiner on the band. I also rigged up a pack hanger with my pack pull up/rope pull down cord. It worked great.

I got one of these.... it works great. Can swing around the tree if you need to and can hold calls and a rangefinder or whatever you need to hang

Prior to getting into saddle hunting, I was using a cheap screw in hangar. Currently using a diy hys with a hero clip. Makes for a much faster/easier setup that is also public land legal... though i do still carry my screw ins as backup.

I just attached one end of my daisy chain gear strap to the upper straps on my pack and the other end to my pull up paracord with a bowline. I shouldn't forget it now. It will semi-permanently be part of my pull up system. :grinning:

I think I’ve done more damage to my shoulder pushing on screws than shooting compounds. Based on some comments above I just picked up this hardware from Lowe’s, and I like it!

Same as above post just a little more stout night ize cam jam. I tie a loop at the end to attach it to the tree. As added a couple loops with a carabiner with one gate cut off to hang my bow, then attach my bag on the other side of the tree. Extremely light and packs down well.

Is that accessory cord or paracord? Really like that idea, going to grab one before a hunt this weekend as it will be my first sit in a stand and plan on doing this.

Paracord, assume either will work, accessory cord with less stretch. But even with a little stretch this tightens down well. I’m done with screw ins!

Sea to summit accessory strap with some plastic hooks. Prefer the hook style vs the plastic buckles of some other straps. Faster and easier to use. More compact in the pocket.
