Hey guys - I’ve been working with it for an hour or so. Just can’t seem to get it to work as well as the assassin. Here’s a quick comparison (4:35). If you see anything I am doing wrong - please let me know. Not sure the video shows well how quiets the assassin is - I was trying to be fast. But between the two as I sit here, one is far superior. Just don’t think I am ready to accept a brand new $300 platform for a back up.

... starting to think I’m just not going to be able to make it work.

That's what I was going to say. I don't feel like mine flexes that much but I haven't seen myself on it from a level perspective. Are you sure your adjustment/leveling pin is on the platform? That's the only way I can see it flexing that much, if the leveling pin isn't resting on the platform. What I've been doing is tightening the strap with the platform up, then I DON'T push the down. I lower the platform and allow the teeth to grab the tree, then I push the platform down. When it grabs the tree it pulls the tree bracket tight. Also, I make sure the platform is level or angled down towards the grown (slight angle). When I angle it like that it seems to prevent the platform from closing on itself like it did to you when you put weight towards the front of the platform. Also, with that slight angle it allows for better side pressure.

It seems like to me if I push the platform down when it's in the up position it gets too tight and you can't cam it over. When I did it that way it seemed to make more noise because I think the leveling pin would be hitting on one side and not the other.

I didn’t think mine flexed much until I watched my 170lb brother in law get on it. It flexed pretty good and I have 90lbs on him...

Well I’m pretty disappointed!!!! I finally got to play around with it this weekend, mine was drilled well & wasn’t off center like others. There’s no way this thing is meant for 300lbs , I’m 6’6” 290. This feels like a rubber band. Maybe they should call it the LWCG Flex! I wanted to love it but it’s going back......

Guys,

I’m 250. Maybe a few pounds under. So not a light weight for sure. I have tried to do the tightening with the platform up and down - tried it just about every which way.

one problem with mine that I think is unique to me is that I cant get the leveling adjustment knob to turn. So, I can’t really do the downward angle that Dobby suggests.

I think it is a swing and a miss for those of us who are greater than 200#. Interesting the Assassin is rated for 250 and the Ambush is 300; but the Assassin is much more stable. That said, I don’t feel unsafe in the ambush. It flexes in the video but doesn’t feel like it will break - I wouldn’t mind so much if it didn’t make the noises and shake progressively looser as the sit goes on.

i requested return labels from them on Friday but haven’t heard back yet. I gave it another good honest try this weekend and I just can’t get it. I think I will go through with the return unless one of you has the magic bullet or fundamental flaw in what I’m doing.

So your adjustment knob is on a bind? That could be part of the problem? I'd probably be sending mine back too if I had the issues some people are having. Luckily mine doesn't have the issues.

After some thorough thought. Unfortunately, I might be done with LWCG. This was strike 3 for me.

treestand jacked up
Sticks jacked up
Platform.... jacked up

Has anyone actually received a return shipping label yet. I emailed a couple times and got a call from them 2 days ago to confirm I wanted to return. Still no label emailed to me yet

Here is the big question, will they improve the platform and offer a new version, or just say nope, no more and scrap the project. I'm not wild about it but I do like it better than not having one.

These are my thoughts exactly.
I think I'm going to hold onto mine and wait for version 2.0, if it ever comes. I'm fairly confident I can always sell this one for about what I paid for it.

Who is ready to sell me their assassin? I really thought that the ambush would satisfy my thirst for the assassin at a lesser cost ..... not after watching that video and reading all these disappointed customers. PM me if you want to unload the assassin :)

Has anyone tried their Ambush with a second strap on the platform base? There is a set of attachment points there for one. Just thinking that it may be needed for some of you larger hunters.
