TEAM 8 Discussion Thread

We shut down early today so I headed to the woods. Saw two does with their three fawns. They just aren’t on the hit list right now.

I do need to thank you. Your jaw jacking got me in the woods 'scouting' with my muzzleloader in my hand a couple days this week. I stumbled upon a nice buck bed with 31 waist high rubs in a 30 yard circle (yes I counted them). The tracks leaving the bed showed me I jumped him. I've been formulating a plan to go back.

Maybe you should try posting in the team 4 thread:)
This thing is far from over. Last year we carried a lead most of the season. Then we lost the lead and had all but given up hope when cajunshooter dit this on January 21st.

All I can say is let’s keep the pressure on them. We haven’t won anything yet.

That is wild!
 
I went and made another sit, changed trees due to wind and this was the only candidate I had. It worked tho! No doe's seen but the same little 8 point came back. Not sure If I'm going to go in the morning or wait til Friday. Screenshot_20200101-164813_Gallery.jpg20200101_175055.jpg
 
I hiked 40min back on public yesterday and hunted from 2 till dark. I didn't see any deer but i did see an eagle. Instead of hunting the spot i passed does up the day after xmas, i went to a new spot with buck sign. I can't help myself lol....Anyway, i'll get it done.

It’s easy and fun. I just have trouble with my ropes sticking to the bark on these pines I keep climbing. I’m working on a girthless rappell method this spring.

Good for me, I ain't hunted in a pine tree in years! Theres not many around the places I hunt and I can generally find a suitable non pine tree.
