Finished a 50 mile canoe camping trip. 4 days 3 nights. Experienced some crazy weather. Heavy storms on 2 evenings. High winds almost flattened the tent.
Fishing was terrible on days one and two, but was really good on day 3. Boated 25 smallmouth and had many hits and lost a few. Fishing was fair on day 4. Caught just a few.
Saw a few dozen bald eagles. More than I've seen outside of Alaska.
Also saw 3 river otters and tons of ducks and a slew of ducklings. Seems like a good nesting year.
Allegheny River in northern PA. Its one of the rivers that eventually flow thru Pittsburgh. We floated well above Pgh. We put in at Kinzua Dam launch and got out at President PA. We camped on the Allegheny Wilderness Islands. Several islands are part of the wilderness system. The float is hardly a wilderness experience, though. Many summer cottages line the banks in some areas and there is also some industry and small towns. What river? ... And what were your starting and finishing points?

We've floated several other sections of the river and we wanted to check this section off the list.
We were trying to figure out how many river miles we've done in this canoe. We think its close to 1,000 miles.

It was nice doing that float during the weekdays. There was almost no boat traffic and most of the camps were empty and quiet, too.My family owns a camp up that way. My wife and I went 45 miles from Kinzua to Tionesta on a long weekend when we were first dating.
2 years ago I bought a Savage 220, bolt action 20 gauge rifled bore shotgun, with a ballistic compensating scope. I have it zero'd at 125 yards and comfortable shooting 175, but with practice I might be able to hit 200. Shoots the Remington sabot rounds the best...2" groups at 125 yards.I killed a deer at 80 yards with a sabot and 12 ga last year, will a 20 ga do that or is my range shorter .
I went out and did some paracord presets

Great idea with the cardboard box as a paper holding frame. And the arrows look good!Started paper tuning my new arrow setup while kids napped briefly. Black eagle x impact 250s with 180gr ethics insert/outsert and 125gr points. I'm the weak point in this setup, but liking penetration
Link to the tx5?Met up w/ @Teddy9871 to finalize a deal & it turned into a gear fest. I have to say the new DanO featherlite sticks are legit. I was most impressed by the TX5 saddle he had, that was about the most comfortable bombproof saddle I’ve seen! How is it you sell stuff & immediately need to order something else??? This place......
I think he’s only on FB , someone else will have to chime in to confirm. All I gotta say is he’s got skills!Link to the tx5?
