So I’ve finished my saddle, and in the process have learned a lot about my new machine. I learned how to reset the timing, adjust the bobbin case, and adjust the needle. But for the life of me, I can’t figure out why I keep bending/breaking needles.
To clarify, I’m not even stitching through the heaviest stuff when this happens. Sometimes it’s only 2 layers of webbing. I can clearly see where it was hitting the bobbin case, but I’ve since tightened it, and I also adjusted the needle over-because it too was out of whack and showing signs of hitting the top plate. If I hand crank I can feel it hit something at the bottom stroke, and it stops. If I kinda wiggle it back and forth the needle seems to jiggle past whatever it’s bottoming out on.
Any thoughts?
