TrophyLine, How do I make this thing comfy?!

Did some modifications:

I added a rope bridge at the lineman loops and DIY-ed a sitdrag into a back band and it's like a new saddle. I sat yesterday for a few hours and no hip pinch, nothing. Why didn't they just engineer it this way.

Thanks again for all the tips and hints!

Which do you think helped more? The rope bridge or sitdrag back band? Ive also experienced a lot of hip pinch, and the best remedy I've found is to only use one web strap, loosened all the way out. I'd be interested in improving.

What did you use for the rope bridge? Amsteel, oplux, etc? Just girth hitched to the existing linemans loops?

Hardly_Hangin I hate to jump in, but I recently made a rope bridge - figure 8 to carabiner to lineman loop and prusik to other lineman loop. On top of that, DB4x4 lent me a fleece saddle with adjustable rope. I ran the fleece saddle outside my Trophyline and it is the definition of comfort! At hunting height, I can put a hair of slack into my rope bridge, leaving most of the pressure into the stretch of the fleece, and it is probably the most comfort I have felt from this particular saddle. I can thank so many guys on here for the ideas!!

A fair amount of guys use a piece of fleece and a rock climbing harness for safety. If you do that, no need for a trophyline or any other saddle.

The rope bridge by far. in fact, I did not even use the back band. It was just in my pocket in case.
I used a 8mm climbing rope rated to something high kN. I can't remember off the top of my head. it's usually used to make prusik's or something. I hooked it to a biner on one linemans loop then around the other loop and back to that same biner. I found that this subtle rope bridge mod and doubling it over to make it shorter 1) made things way more comfortable with virtually no hip pinch and 2) the short bridge really gave me what I needed for using my recurve in the tree (not that I needed it).

I am really unsure why TL made the saddle the way they did with that webbing bridge. I guess some guys can get comfy in it, but man not me. I actually used the webbing bridge as my waist belt as suggested by @Nutterbuster in one of his vids and just tightened the actual waist belt up behind me and out of the way. I guess I could cut it off, but in the event I ever want to try and sell this thing or loan it out, I think having it intact will be a good thing.

@roach do you happen to have a picture of the fleece mod that you have just so i can get some ideas. I too like the dump pouches for various stuff - pull-up rope, daisy chain for tree, hydration tabs, etc.
And I agree, can't thank the guys on here enough for the helpful suggestion. I ordered one of those H2 Triad Bridges because i think the adjustability of that bridge on the TL could be money.... I will report once it arrives.

@splatek :

This is @DB4x4 fleece saddle that he let me borrow for a few days (so he thinks!). Also pictured is my rope bridge that I recently added, which I believe helps out with hip pinch and some discomfort I had been experiencing after a few hours of leaning. I will loosen up the tension on my rope bridge (just a hair, since it is my primary safety attachment) and put weight into the stretch of the fleece. I was worried the dump pouches would create pressure points on my hips, but this was not the case, in my opinion, due to the overbuilt design of this saddle.

Another nice benefit of the fleece is that I can finally see what it is like to be a "sitter", which I was unable to do in this saddle previously.

Oh wow, I've heard the term "fleece saddle" thrown around but i never understood that it was just a peice of fleece, that thing is just a sling!

Looks comfy

I thought it was complete BS when DB4x4 told me about it, but it is legit the most comfort I got while wearing this saddle!

@roach wow, so you just circumvented the entire TL and are just using that as a lifeline now. Nice.
Very nice

I disagree, with a saddle on the bottom you have lineman’s loops To help with climbing and more comfort for your crotch than a RCH.

Whatever works for you. I add lineman’s loops to my RCH’s. I don’t see comfort being an issue when the fleece is taking all the weight at height.

But I do see a point, possibly, of more comfort while climbing, but only when one-sticking or otherwise hanging without feet taking any weight. The RCH has the leg straps and the saddle can cup the butt.

When I use sit drag or fleece, I don’t put them on until at height.

Well if you have lineman’s loops then there you go. How did you make yours? Pictures?

Here's how I added a lineman rope to mine...

This is gold^^^ so much more comfortable. I hooked everything in like normal to my web bridge, git totally set up to hunt, then hooked my lineman belt in as my bridge and holy cow
