New Hunting Beast Hang On

In the 90s as a teen I carried 15 ft of steel ladder sticks and a hang all over WVA had no idea I was being “mobile” I just didn’t want to hunt around my friends

Back then i had more issues with duck hunters than deer hunters.

I was “beast hunting” before it was called that, haha.

I’m staring at this beast stand, patiently waiting to see if the new assault from novix is going to really be any lighter, and what does LWCG do, basically there offering 20% off if you buy gift cards... check it out.... now I’m thinking screw it and just order the .5 and get it over with, thats less than what I have seen them sell used for, I just cleaned every tree stand out of my garage and basement (13) and sold them, I told myself I am going to buy one kick ass stand combo but be patient, now what....what are the chances this beast stand carrys sticks as slick as the .5, not good I’m thinking..

Better deal than they offered for black Friday, really.

Maybe off topic, but can a LWCG mini stick owner give me a quick answer on which length cable aider to get, I’m 6’ and can do 20” no problem, but would 17” pack cleaner on the .5, I hate stuff hanging out and catching on brush, I’m ordering today and this thread was active hence why I posted here.

The 20" packs about an inch higher than the post but the standoff and folded step will be higher than the aider by a couple inches.

Yes, always tradeoffs.

Certainly I'm questioning the seat. The 9x11.5" seat is the smallest I've seen on a lightweight hang-on. The seats on these LW style hang-ons have always been a sore spot for most when it comes to comfort, and now the seat is smaller. Maybe it won't make much of a difference as they already mostly suck to sit on; will have to see how that pans out.

For guys who don't have a lot of all day sits, may be a non issue. But, I know I'd rather sit occasionally with my feet hanging off the M7 than sit occasionally on any LW hang-on no matter how big the platform. I also like to stand facing the tree with front edge of the M7 seat giving me a bit of support just below my knees, which this style seat doesn't provide.

Putting an M7 seat on this stand, however, doesn't look like a difficult mod..AND..I much prefer LW style platforms.

Haven't finished reading all yet, but spot on here. Dangit I don't know why they can't come up with an M7 type seat instead. Seems like that would be a slam dunk. Love my .5 LWCG but that *&^% seat. One of my old cheap lock-ons I bent a piece of EMT, bolted it on in place of the seat, hung a piece of Hazmore net and bamm. I sold my old M7 4 weeks ago, and re-bought another one 2 days ago just for spite LOL.

Is that View attachment 41698LWCG sticks? TRAITOR!!! Lol
I asked Dan about this......
New guy in the group. They were short a stand and the guy said he had one but hesitated bringing his out because he had a LWCG and was embarassed that he was in the group and had a competitor stand. They all had a good laugh about it. No hard feelings at all. Sounds like he’s not happy at all with his LWCG and after seeing the Beast stand is eager to buy one.

I had thought the same thing when I watched :tearsofjoy: . Now that's funny!

You should tell Dan that a saddle would be perfect for those drives they do! We used to do similar drives (not in marshes) where we would always have the standers in treestands. Man do I wish I had the setup I do now for those drives.

No doubt a saddle would be a great option for that. Might be pretty hard to talk him into NOT using his stand.

Anyone get the newer beast sticks made in the USA? Wondering if they are any different.
