I own a business, I have for 18 years, I completely agree with not wanting people to go online and roast a business when they have had no chance to correct things first and in private, I also know that it’s a double edged sword when you use the awesome powers of the internet...facebook...youtube etc to promote that said business and watch it take off, you are going to deal with threads like this, that’s just the way it is, one would think it would be in any popular, vocal online business best interest to employ somebody to put fires like this out fast and keep the peace, this isn’t directed towards tethrd or anybody else for that matter, just my opinion for all big online vendors.
They probably have determined that a crack at this point will not result in a fall of the platform. It is reasonable if that is the case. They’re aware of the issue and have chosen to take a “wait and see if anyone gets injured” position. Is that how you would run your business, if you were/are manufacturing a product? Or would you recall what you know to be defective? Would you tell your customers who have defective models, if it breaks well replace it?

First, not sure how a Tethrd issue relates to "the site" members looking out for each other. IMO this thread was originated as one member looking out for others by giving a heads up.Sad because this site was so close knit and everyone watched out for each other...

[/QUOTE]It relates to Tethrd continued denial of quality issues and "if it breaks replacement " solution.
If you want to pay good money and get inferior products they seem like the one to pick. It won't fail til it does seems counter intuitive to safety in my mind.
As a member I appreciate this info of failures and how companies approach problems. Then I know where to drop my money and who to stay away from.
I've been watching this thread pretty closely. Maybe one word of wisdom for guys that end up in the OP's position is settle things with the company before starting a thread. Then you have the whole story and facts don't get missed or skewed. Just some food for thought.
X2 on the off centered holebakin thanks for bringing this topic up as it’s important for everyone to know of a possible equipment defect as soon as possible.
Did Tethrd give any information on what “batches” or date ranges in manufacturing that have this off centered hole that is causing the failure?
I just looked at my platform with a stamp date of 021020 and it too has the off centered hole, but no cracking yet but I’ll surely be monitoring it daily.
I agree that this issue was a good thing to be brought up. Not saying that is a bad deal.I disagree.. Seems like this brought up an issue that is not just for the OP that probably would not have been known to others in the same situation if it was direct to the manufacturer.
