you think any of these guys could keep up with camron hanes.seems like clickbait
So Dan says at 45:00 that "my stand I can get into any tree" so how does he get into that cedar without cutting a lot of limbs and having that hole he is referring to. I'm new at this but wouldn't it be better to cut a whole on the back side of the tree for the saddle and leave most of the limbs on the front for cover and be able to move around to shoot around the limbs in front of you.
And he didn't demonstrate on but that one tree. And I'm not buying a saddle hunting platform from a guy that dont hunt out of a saddle and that dogs them like that. What company is he with?I can go out and make I video me vs hang on Don and do the exact same comparison video pooing on a hang on but I don't have the street credit of beast man....didn't they just release a hang on stand for sale?
I own climber, hang on, and saddle and due to may back problems the saddle is the only 1 I can sit for more than 3 hours in without back pain.
Was pretty convenient how beast man forgot tree harness so u have the visual of him unobstructed free to move around and then the relative newbie who climbs up before negotiate a branch and ends up with his tether at his knees looking like an idiot. I hunted outta hang on and know ur harness tether gets in the way just as much
I have a millennium with the tree bracket....it's very easy to set but I add a 2nd strap low on the post and have to do the toe hook ballerina act to get it set tight enough to were I feel comfortable if a little unlevel in a leaning treeHonest question here. I never purchased a hang on stand worth more than 120$. Every time I set one in the summer, it is a difficult, noisy experience. (At least for me). Are more expensive stands easier to set? am I missing something? Maybe it's the trees I am trying to hunt. But Dan has hunted that tree before, so he has probably trimmed some things. I always seemed to adjust it left, right, up or down several times until I find the magic position I like. The saddle platform is way easier to adjust. Adjusting the tether can raise or lower me to open up shooting lanes some. Should I have tried a expensive hang on?
I don’t need or carry a pack. Everyone’s system is tailored. But I’m lighter than most saddle setups and I don’t snag on anything. My main issue with saddle hunting is the tree selection. The weight savings for the saddle come if you use a ring of steps or a small platform (like the Tree Suit). Whether a stand or saddle, your climbing method can be the same and that's where folks try to cut the most weight. A saddle does lend itself to the lightest climbing methods (1 sticking and rope techniques), but you could probably do those with a rock climbing harness and then pull your stand up (it just doesn't seem like anyone is doing that).
The other big deal is that even if it is a similar weight, a saddle setup feels lighter/more comfortable/doesn't get hung up in brush....because you don't have a big rigid aluminum platform on you making you a ninja turtle. I love having the weight in the bottom of a Mystery Ranch pack versus strapped to a tree stand.
If it doesn’t have leveling and and offset bracket it’s not worth owning. It just severely limits the tree. Any sort of weird angle is uncomfortable. The weight makes my .5 easier to hang. But the main functional difference between it and my assault 2 is the extra leveling. For 170 ish you could have had a xop vanish, very functional. Probably cheaper if you found one used.Honest question here. I never purchased a hang on stand worth more than 120$. Every time I set one in the summer, it is a difficult, noisy experience. out of a tree? if so im inSlightly off topic, but last year I cooked up an idea. A terrible, awful idea...
Who's in for a no-gear challenge? No gear allowed that doesn't fit in your pants or jacket pockets with the exception of your weapon. No saddle, no climber, no $250 chair. No presets! For extra points you could do it with nothing but a 2 wheel drive car for access and "civvy clothes". Could compete for the biggest buck and the highest head count.
How much of an edge IS all this stuff anyway?
However you wanna do it sirout of a tree? if so im in
