Friction knot slippage on Cruzr Restech tether

I recently purchased a Cruzr Restech pre-sewn tether with the schwabish hitch cord included and pre-tied. I'm experiencing significant slippage of the knot when I put my full weight into the saddle/sitting in the saddle.

An I doing something wrong, do I need to re-tie the hitch or switch to a prussic knot, or is the included friction hitch cord not appropriate for the Restech rope the hitch is made from?

I don't like TRC with 8mm for tethers or primary load bearing (like one-sticking). I switched to Beal cord and only use TRC for my backup when rappelling.
I agree an extra loop will help, but it may make it hard to adjust.

I wish I was a headlight on a north-bound train

I am having the same issue with the same rope. I believe I have the distel rather than the schwabisch hitch but generally the same issue. I’ll try another wrap but suspect it may be related to using these 2 ropes together. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Thanks

I may have the name of the hitch wrong. I'm not familiar really with either knot. Are you guys using Beal Jammy's or some other cord here? I'm open to trying it and using the included hitch for an autoblock.

Is the hitch cord a loop or two sewn eyes? Not too many choices if a loop, Prusik or Klemheist are the most common hitches.

It's two sewn eyes. I tried putting an extra wrap in the Distel hitch, but there's a not a ton of line to work with outside the protective sleeve on the sewn loops. I may have to get some off the Beal 5.5 mm cordelette and tie/try a different hitch.

Two eyes are good, try tying the Distel and rotate the eyes 180 degrees before clipping. Check to see if it grabs better, if not try another twist, if that doesn’t help ten an extra wrap would be next option, or get the Beal as you said.

I am having the same issues with the same ropes. Thanks for the ideas. I’ll try them also. If they don’t work, does 8mm Oplux work better than Resc Tech (less slippage)? Appears some places are sold out of Oplux, so it may be a moot point, but if some becomes available, I thought I would check. I suppose I could try a different cord than 6mm Sterling TRC for the hitch as mentioned previously also…

The RescTech, Oplux, and DuraShield are all very similar, with the TRC not biting as well on all three.

The TRC is recommended by Sterling to work with the Oplux, probably has nothing to do with that they make it.

Trc work great for me on oplux. The kevlar 5.5 had a ton of slippage on it though.

The TRC works fine for me as a backup knot on my rappel with Oplux. I use a 3 wrap distel in this case. It didn't work for me as primary support (tether/one-sticking).

What knot are you using?
I had a 8MM Oplux with a 6.8MM T-VAC and had slippage.
Switched to 6MM TRC, no slippage so far.
Ordered a Beal Jammy 5.5MM just in case, I was told this is the way to go.

I am having the opposite problem where (under load) my 6 mm TRC prussic bites so hard into my oplux tether that it’s hard to adjust when I wanna move it. Has anyone tried a different friction hitch that doesn’t bite so hard?

It's a distel. I put an extra wrap in it and it's ok now. The hitch cord is just a tad short with the cover on the sewn eyes with the extra wrap, but it will do until I get some of the Beal 5.5 mm cordelette in and tie some new hitches with it.

Anyone comment on how much of the Beal 5.5 cordelette i will need to do two triple fisherman's and the hitch knot?
