Flat Branch Outdoors

I got one sit in the solitude. My very last of the year. Most comfy saddle yet for me. I ended up buying one in the classifieds. I’d say the only downside is that it’s really big to walk with. This is not a problem for me as I typically carry my saddle in my bag anyway.

nice, just ordered one

what size did you order and what's you waist size (if you don't mind)?

also, what is the width of the webbing on the belt that goes through the buckle?

thanks

I’m a 36 and currently have a large. Seems about right for me. Some other guys on here are 36 and have XLs and they seem happy as well.

I think the belt is 1.5 inch but I need to check

the owner is a 32 inch waist and uses an xl, so that's what i ordered (i'm 34 inch, but have to wear a belt pretty tight due to nobooty-itis)

the cruzr xc size 2 is 25 inches base of bridge loop to loop and the xl is 27 inches

large is same as the xc size 2

thanks for checking on that webbing belt width, i'm going to order some heavier duty stainless sliders for it and hope to have them waiting on the saddle

I think I could size up but I was very comfy in a large. If you get it in a few months and feel like you really need to downsize - message me and we could trade. But I think you’ll be happy with the XL.

I was going to show the video review to a buddy. Anyone know why the NYSH guys removed the video?

Not sure why the video was taken down. To be honest I am not impressed with the stitching quality after a season’s use. It is a very comfortable saddle (solitude) but I just picked up a new transformer for this year.

what's the issue with the stitching?

i ordered one 2 months ago and emailed recently to check on it and they couldn't give me an estimated time of arrival....maybe that has something to do with it?

the video might be creating so much demand or maybe the nysh guys are queasy about the wait time on a product they are associated with?

That was my assumption but wasn’t sure.

I picked up one here. Have nothing to compare it too but really like it with the time i’ve spent learning it. Will probably try a few others and grow my collection as seems to be the pattern with saddle hunters! lol

I thought the flat branch solitude 2.0 was very comfortable. But it’s humongous

I can see that. But was a selling point for me. Needed something that supported as much as possible. I anticipate it would catch on every saw briar around, so i’ll definitely have to put it on at bottom of the tree. Im new so i may have bought all the wrong products, but i won’t know til I get halfway through my season! lol

I really just noticed this a few weeks ago going over my gear. First is obviously cosmetic but I’d still expect this to remain intact. Second is bridge loop attachment point to panel.

The NYSH review was what sold me on buying the saddle last summer, specifically that the creator has been sewing for a long time. Which I am sure is true but again I am not blown away with how it seemed to deteriorate in these spots.

Not very encouraging! Have you reached out to the maker? Of course from the looks of it, that could take a while if he does repair it.

I have not, mainly because I’m moving away from a mesh saddle for this year but I may give him a ring. He seems like a nice guy from what I remember talking to him.

I actually just sent him an email seeing if he’ll repair or replace. Kind of curious to see what his position is on this.

thanks for the pics.....i didn't expect anything like this.....contemplating cancelling my order and getting another cruzr xc....i already have one and wanted to move it to backup role but 2 cruzr xcs is a good roster as well

I had a solitude..sold it and bought an Orion…sold the Orion and I’m back with a solitude :) it’s embarrassing, but here we are. Now I just need to manage to not flake out on the solitude before the season because of @_Dario comments. Just when I thought I was satisfied…

On the real, the solitude is humongous, I hate walking with it, but it’s so darn comfortable and I don’t even need a back band.. i’ve tried around 8 different saddles and none have come close to the comfort. I think the juice is worth the squeeze. I (think) am sticking with it for this season anyway.

It’s definitely the most comfortable saddle for me. I’ll keep you guys posted if/when I hear back about possible warranty.
