This camera was just put up last week. It's almost 8 ft up the tree angled down. And the worst part is it's a solid 2 hr walk 1 way to fix it.

I wonder if you took an old dead camera, gutted it, filled it with ghost peppers and rubbed the outside down with bacon grease if the experience of eating that would deter them from future camera attacks? I have no experience with bears.
 
I bought 14 of those Camlock camera boxes, they’re pricey but basically indestructible, and then I just stock up on extra antennas and soon as a camera goes offline 99% chance a bear ripped one of my antennas off, next time I’m in the area I just stick a new antenna on, run 2 lag bolts so they can’t spin it on the tree.
 
My buddy was charged a bunch by one the other day and it followed him and his dog almost a mile…. I know a few people who have been charged, but he’s the first I personally know to have been followed. He even posted several videos on Facebook the other day. Damn bears…

I saw a video this year of a young black bear following a hiker out of the woods. I picked up some Bear spray this year just for this reason. I have almost as many bear on cameras as I do deer. I will not hesitate to spray a black bear.

I read an article that said dogs often provoke bears then run back to the owners with the bears chasing them putting the dog owner at risk for a bear attack. I think a lot of people feel safer in the woods with a dog but after reading stories and seeing videos they would have been much better off without the dog. I never thought about this when i have take dogs out hunting but it will be on my mind from now on lol.
 
What’s a good bear spray? Sadly I don’t have my permit yet… NYS is stupid and even then, I don’t believe Im supposed to carry during archery.

Not supposed to carry here either. But there are so many bear around here. There have been multiple attacks and I have seen 11 of them together at one time. I will take my chances getting popped conceal carry. Better than becoming dinner.

I have a couple cans of bear spray. The entire can is empty in like 3 seconds. You got one shot…lol

I have CC and always have my .40 with me. Once I realized how many bears are in my area It freaked me out a little bit so I started reading about black bear encounters and decided Bear spray was the best option for me VS going for my gun. Its very thick where I am hunting, trying to get a bullet through it would be a challenge, I think the wall the spray puts out would be a better option.
