Yeah he’s wide as hell. Didn’t look at his rack much before the shot but when I watched the video my mouth ran dry. He’s one of the biggest deer I’ve seen, let alone taken a crack at.Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes!!!! Keep us posted. Man he looks wide!!!
Good luck!Tracking job starting soon
Wonderful vicarious morning we have going here, looking forward to the next update.Tracking job starting soon
I think I saw him bed down about 100 yards away.
Bed. Tough to tell at that distance through trees but there were also other deer around so we’ll see shortlyBed down or fall down? Big difference...
Gotta create some tension, ya know?
I thought about that as well but assuming the first pic is impact 99.5% of the time that deer is dead. I like the fact that he has given him a good bit of time though just in case. Not to be Debbie downer. But if you’re 15’ or higher in tree, he might be single lunged if no heart or plumbing. Him bedding gives me that suspicion too. On top of everyone piling on saying he’s done. Never fails.
Here’s one vote for proceeding as if you hit him single lung…

I too considered this, and said as much to the guy who’s helping me track. I am giving him at least 3.5 hours all to himself. First pic was indeed impact, and I’m thinking I may have clipped heart. Fingers still crossed but proceeding with caution. Not to be Debbie downer. But if you’re 15’ or higher in tree, he might be single lunged if no heart or plumbing. You need help?? I'll head that way. May take awhile though.........I think I saw him bed down about 100 yards away. Shot looked decent, right behind shoulder blade and a little low but I think vitals. Here are the first few frames of video after the shot:View attachment 78828View attachment 78829View attachment 78831

I have a dog. Where in Ohio?Update: went out 4 hours after the shot, got on good blood, some lung matter and bright, frothy, mucusy blood, then I crept to within 30 yds of where he apparently bedded and he got up and trotted onto the neighbor’s. He didn’t book it, and he gushed some more goopy red blood as he went, so at 180 yds of tracking I backed out and put in an SOS with my other neighbor. Going to give him until about 9pm then hit the trail again, hoping he is dead as we speak. He’s hurt…bad. But my arrow seems to still be in him and my attitude is staying positive. He is for sure going to die, I just want to find him when he does.
Beanie weanies for you too. I been eatin 'em all season.I’m on a doe hunt and just blew out ten. Wind shifted bad from predicted direction!!$ grrrrr!!! Still have about 20 minutes.View attachment 78858
